The Bedroom Blog Diaries: When You're 25...

It never occurred to me that at the very young age of 25, I would turn wacko over weddings. It never occurred to me that at 25, I would feel the itching desire to make the rest of the world shut up about its not-so-subtle wedding-related inquiries. I mean, when you’re 25, you’re supposed to be going silly over fashion, music, gadgets, hot men, and everything else you can spend your young professional’s money on. When you’re 25, you’re supposed to gag over the thought of marriage, thinking that it would hinder you from making your New York dreams and other big plans come true.
But I already went silly when I was 22. Now, at 25, I want bigger things and along with it comes the mindset that marriage should not hinder me from being my best self. In fact, it could probably make me go farther, because I think that when you’ve made a big decision like that, the path in front of you becomes straighter, with less detours. When you decide on something big, you begin to see that some of your former dreams no longer fit the life you want to make.
You see, it just never occurred to me that at 25, my mind is this less cluttered.
So what is it about weddings that weaken even the most self-sufficient and self-absorbed among us women? What is it about white flowing dresses, elegant cakes, champagne glasses, and wedding photographs that make some of us so intolerable that our significant others fake sleep to shut us up? What is it about weddings that make women all over the world go berserk?
Maybe I know the answer.
Maybe, like most of the single women out there, I’m just wondering if it's part of my future.

9. @angel: awww…you’ll find someone who’ll make you wear rose-colored glasses again….the size of bubuyog shades even. And he’ll make you see stars. Haha. Hang in there.

8. @vidarene: that’s bedroom blog worthy :) Yes, apart from the gowns and the motif and all that wedding paraphernalia…it’s the look on a woman’s face nga. Especially when it’s a friend of yours.

4. its part of our future. you can't expect to stay single forever... and we're humans. we get born, grow up, fall in love, work, get married, have kids then die. that's the cycle. we can't fight it. what we can do is make the best of it. (wow, i'm cynical na! after attending two weddings and seeing true love, i got dumped, so i'm not eager to wear my rose-colored glasses ha)

3. it is not the dress that makes some women go crazy about the wedding. It is the feeling that we see from the woman who is about to get married that radiates on her own persona. The feeling that someone wanted to be with her for the rest of their lives. Someone who wanted to grow old with her inspite and despite of her flaws. It is always been "when will it happen to me". Beautiful white wedding gowns are famous statements of every wedding. It will not be perfect if the bride does not wear a well design with intricate detail dress. The flowers, giveaways, reception are just basically superficial. What we envy is the reason that a man wanted this woman to be his wife.

1. d ko rin alam why...i guess kasi... NEVER MIND I DON'T KNOW WHY =)) it's weird kasi when i was a kid, unlike other girls, i didn't think about how my wedding would look like. di ako kasi kikay when i was a kid or even as a teen. so miski ako shocked kung ba't ganito ang nararamdaman ko na parang gusto ko na din makasal. =)) kahet i know at the back of my mind di pa ako ready to have a family. gusto ko lang talaga ng weddings. =))
