Like I said, our first afternoon (at approximately 3:00–3:20PM) in Hong Kong was amazing.

The owner of the guest house we stayed in is used to having Filipino couples as guests. He was a short man (around 5'2") and a bit on the heavy side, with jet black hair, a mustache, and slightly pink, pudgy cheeks. He looks like the Asian version of Santa Claus. He was very thorough, and even showed us the complimentary set of toothbrushes (pink and blue!), soap, and shampoo inside the amazingly small bathroom. Honestly, I couldn't wait for him to get out of the way.

Why oh why did Logan have to wear that "Good Rear" shirt that made him look effortlessly smug? Sometimes, I really hate how he can wear something as simple as a black shirt, loose pants, and a pair of Sandugo slippers and still look nicely put together, as though he spent hours deciding what to wear.

Maybe it's the pair of Spyder shades that framed his face rather nicely, or the tousled hair that makes him so gwapo in that I-don't-care sort of way. Or maybe I've been temporarily blinded by the sun. Whatever it was that made me too hot to even care about how small the guest bathroom was, we didn't wait long before stripping down to our birthday suits the moment our landlord bid us "Bye, see you later."

Oh, and those 15 minutes I spent teasing him? They were spent onboard the A21 Cityflyer bus from the Hong Kong International Airport to the Tsim Sha Tsui bus stop on Nathan Road. It was such a wonderful release (pun totally intended), and a much needed one. After all, we were up to our necks in stress from work, family, and friends.

Never mind that we told our parents we were with Arya and Mel in Hong Kong (you know, parents!), never mind that we didn't get a pre-planned tour (magpapakabibo kami!), never mind that we didn't get much sleep last night or on the plane due to the excitement of living together--just the two of us--under one roof for five straight days, never mind that we hadn't checked in with our families since we landed in HK an hour ago. Never mind all that.

All we knew was that we were both here, in this surprisingly welcoming guest room in Hong Kong, arms and legs tangled together in one sweet, exhausted embrace, and hearts unusually hungry for more.

Welcome to Hong Kong, my love.

The air smells different here. It smells like freedom.
