If sex isn't that great between you and your guy, here's what you can do to spare his ego, get your own satisfaction, and make the best of the sitch.

Step 1: "Don't apologize."

Don't instinctively take on the blame if things go wrong. It's normal for you to experience setbacks or inconveniences--from not being able to come or pulling a muscle while trying out a new position--during sack sessions. Accept the fact that sex can get messy.

Step 2: "Be patient."

If your partner hasn't quite figured out how to please you, don't think that he's hopeless. Instead, save the sex but spare his ego by suggesting activities that provide intimacy without requiring sex--like a massage. This way, you can slowly teach him how to touch you the right way without worrying about an iffy outcome.

Step 3: "Make your move if you can't stand his."

If your partner is attempting a move that's leaving you cold, it's not right for you to just look annoyed or pretend to be distracted to make him stop what he's doing. Instead, suggest a move that's sure to get you hot. Do so in your most seductive voice. Sample line: "Hon, I like it better if you do it this way."
