We’re quite sure your company party will be held this week—that is, if it didn’t happen last week. And we’re quite sure you’re already panicking as you ravage your closet or scamper for the nearest mall to find the perfect attire that will not drain your Christmas shopping fund. Don’t let the mad rush and last-minute shopping make you pick out a blah, or worse, disastrous outfit. Take a deep breath, clear your head, and remember these Cosmo tips.
Whether you’re thinking of coming to work in something that’ll be good enough for the party tonight, or you’re planning on changing into something more festive later on, here are some day-to-night tips on how to level up your office party look:
1. Pick out something special. You only get to shine this way at work at least once a year, so show your officemates a new you by donning a bongga outfit you’ve been hiding in your closet which they haven’t seen you in before. This should have one-of-a-kind details, plush fabrics, or unique patterns.
2. Accessorize A LOT. If you came into the office in your favorite LBD, whip out your stash of accessories and pile on those that will complement your outfit later in the evening. Pick out a statement necklace, a cocktail ring, drop chandelier earrings, or a stack of bangles to complete your look.
3. Sparkle in sequins. Nothing spells party better than a shimmery dress or a studded ensemble. Come in one of this season’s biggest trends, whether in small doses as fancy details on your top or a full-on shiny number, like a dress or blazer, that will definitely make you stand out in your office party.
4. Go bold. And we don’t mean going in typical Christmas colors like red or green. You can look festive and fab in other bright-colored pieces like fuchsia or bright orange, too. You’ll stylishly stand out in the office party crowd for sure.
