We know how you girls go gaga over the sight of red bold letters that scream “SALE." Most of you even wait for this season before grabbing pieces you’ve been lusting after for some time, just to purchase them at half (or less than half) its price.

But most of the time, you end up spending more during sales. Why? After getting what you need, it's tempting to sift through those piles of clothes and buy everything else that seems "cheap"--only to realize you've overspent when you get the receipt for all your purchases. Sounds familiar? Before you head out for some last minute V-day shopping, read on for tips to a more fun and organized spree.

1. Have A List Of What You Need
Before hitting the stores, check your closet and have a rundown of items you already have. By doing so, you’ll have an idea what must-haves you still lack. Jot down these items according to priority.

2. Shop Early
Research when the sale period starts and find out what time stores open. Shopping early on the first few days of the sale allows you to get first dibs on the stocks. This will also give you ample time to try on items you like before everyone else does. We suggest you avoid shopping during lunch breaks, after work hours, or late afternoon on weekends, when it’s usually too crowded.

3. Wear Comfortable Clothes
Shopping is good a form of exercise. It entails a lot of patience and energy, as you walk around the mall or the store, picking out and trying on several pieces of clothing. We suggest you wear clothes that are easy to take off and put back on. Wear tank tops and leggings so you can pull on clothes on top of your outfit, in case there's no fitting room available. Also keep in mind that the shoes you’re wearing must be comfortable—you wouldn’t want sore feet and blisters after.

4. Check The Items Before Buying
Most reduce-priced items are not covered by their return policy. Be sure to carefully check the quality of the garment or accessory. See the stitches if they still hold, and check for holes, stains, or discoloration. You shouldn't get poor quality items just because they happen to be on sale.

5. Bring A Cash Stash
Some stores do not accept cards while they're on sale. So be sure to bring enough cash for your purchases.
