Beauty Secrets Heart Evangelista Keeps In Her Hermes Bag

"A positive outlook in life" is the one thing you must have if you want to look and stay beautiful, according to young actress Heart Evangelista. Cosmo got to chat with its former cover girl when her latest endorsement, Olay Natural White, the beauty brand's new brightening line, was launched recently.

The Kapuso star also mentioned that having a healthy lifestyle is key to achieving this goal. "You gotta be healthy, that's the first thing," she says.

Heart talked about how most women like to go for a quick fix when they want to look better, which is not the best route if long-term beauty is what you're after. She pointed out that being beautiful has nothing to do with how well you put on makeup. "You [must] really work out, eat the right food, have a balanced diet, and take care of your skin. [To be beautiful, you have to] really take care of yourself," says Heart.

For her regular exercise, Heart walks for 30 minutes, four to five times a week. She also follows a low-carb diet, "pero not naman na dine-deprive ko ang sarili ko."

When it comes to makeup, Heart believes that the simpler your look is, the better. "I don't wear too much makeup when I'm not doing anything. Red lipstick lang, 'yun na 'yon. Ayaw ko ng masyadong naka-makeup kasi everyday nakababad [ako] sa ilaw."

17. @summerinparis128: Wearing red lipstick is always a matter of shade, and attitude! :) Go for bluish reds instead of orangish reds, and if your lips get chapped, go for brands with a little moisturizer. :) Matte reds are the best!
