Dimples Romana Opens Up Her Econo-Friendly Bag

The Mara Clara actress actually prefers to bring inexpensive bags. Find out what she keeps inside.

Owning designer items is somehow expected of a celebrity. But for Kapamilya actress Dimples Romana, it's still important to be practical than go for branded items when shopping.

The celebrity mom admits that she splurges on bags or dresses at times, but she considers this a sort of reward for herself after a productive day at work.

"'Yung mga basic lang [ang] sinu-splurge ko," Dimples tells Cosmo.ph. "Pero ayaw ko rin masyado, kasi sa artista, marami rin naman kaming sponsors, so you don't necessarily need to buy na your stuff."

Although she owns a few designer bags, the Mara Clara actress prefers to bring her non-branded bags during taping.

"At least this time, I don't have to be overly careful sa taping. At saka if you buy kasi the expensive ones and you bring it to taping, it's not practical. Kapag nasulatan ng bagets, kapag nawala, huwag na lang, ayaw ko," she explains.

The actress attributes her practicality when shopping to the country's current economic situation. Dimples points out, "Ngayon, sa hirap ng buhay, ang hirap namang mag-splurge tapos makikita mo na maraming hindi nakakakain, 'no? Parang hindi kakayanin ng puso ko. Tama na lang muna 'yung mag-splurge ako [para sa] sarili ko kapag napapagod. Pero 'yun na muna, kasi we also have to be aware sa social [situation] natin."

"Siyempre, ngayon uso ang bagyo. [If] you remember, [at the] Shop and Share [program] of Angel [Locsin] and Anne [Curtis], people donated their bags and possessions. It's a reminder na these things are only temporary. Hindi ito 'yung mga bagay na nagko-conquer sa atin. Hindi ito dapat maging status symbol. So, mas simple mas maganda.  Sa totoo nga lang, mas mura, mas maganda ang quality, okay na for me."

Dimples also wants the public to change their perception about celebrities. She pleads: "People have to be aware na hindi porke't artista kami, dapat naka-Louis Vuitton kami, dapat naka-Chanel. Hindi. Tama na lang na mayroon kaming isang Chanel or isang Louis Vuitton para naman kahit papaano masabi naming pinaghirapan namin 'yon. Pero para mangolekta pa ako at alam kong maraming tao ang naghihirap, hindi na tama."
