Actress Jackie Lou Blanco doesn't remember if she's ever splurged on anything in her life.
"Considered splurge ba kunwari 'yung P2,000 plus? Splurge na ba 'yon?" she asked while trying to recall if she ever made expensive purchases in the past. Cosmo.ph got to talk to the actress at a press event for GMA-7's Sine Novele Presents Basahang Ginto, where she plays Elaine, mom of Geoff Eigenmann's character.
Jackie Lou said whenever she shops for something, she always considers the use of the product instead of the brand.
"Siguro ang pinaka-splurge ko na lang is 'yung mayroon akong binili dati na Shu Uemura cleansing oil. Parang for me, sobrang splurge na 'yon kasi parang mahal. 'Yun lang. Maganda lang siya kasi when you put it on your face, water na lang [ang kailangan]. Tapos nagtu-turn na siya na parang sabon na rin. After that, tapos ka na."
She added, "For me, parang feeling ko sayang, e [kung bibili ng mahal]. So, pag-iisipan ko talaga 'yan... 'Kailangan ko ba ito?' I'm really very practical talaga."
When it comes to clothes, Jackie Lou also doesn't consider herself a fashionista. "I am very basic and always on the safe side. I really go more for comfort. Basta, I like jeans, I like white tops, I love ballet shoes, and of course my Espadrilles.
"If there's any brand lang before that I liked because maganda lang 'yung fit sa akin, it's Giordano. It doesn't really matter, as long as I find something na maganda 'yung fit sa akin," she said.
We then asked Jackie Lou about the bag she had with her. She was unaware that what she had was a Guess? bag--a gift from her mother, famous singer Pilita Corrales.
"Mabuti na lang sa nanay ko dahil niregalo niya sa akin 'to. Kung ako lang, hindi ko ito bibilhin. It's my mom who buys these things as gifts for me."
