Arrivederci, Italy! For Cruise 2017, Gucci will vacate the nation in favor of London and a rather hallowed venue: Westminster Abbey. Yup, that’s the same place where Kate Middleton wedded Prince William, and where people like Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin are buried. No biggie, right?
As if that isn’t intimidating enough, the Italian label is also the first fashion brand to be given permission to present at the historical Abbey, the Telegraph reports. Newly appointed creative director and self-confessed Anglophile Alessandro Michele described the momentous development as “magical.”
Should we expect an elaborate collection to go with the elaborate setting? Hauntingly beautiful gowns, perhaps?
Or a mishmash of busy prints?
Puritan chic, maybe?
Either way, we’re super excited!
