I Chose To Be Here
Posted on November 19, 2011 12:00AM

Somewhere inside of me, there was this tiny voice that kept screaming at me to call him already--call and ask where the hell he was. But the bigger part of me, my pride, told me to wait until he called first. Hayaan mo siyang mauna, my pride said. Remember what happened before. Don't let history hit you in the face again.
So I waited...
Then I waited some more.
And when I thought I couldn't have waited any longer, I still waited. -
Romantic Couples Sit Across From Each Other
Posted on August 20, 2011 12:00AM

We first entered the restaurant because of its name—Empire. Actually, it's Empire Deli And Restaurant, but silly me, I thought it was the pastry shop of George Rocha (the pretty sportscaster who also happens to write for the same magazine I contribute to) where she sells fabulous French macaroons. That night, Logan and I had no trouble deciding where to dine. He knows I'm a sucker for those French pastries, so he gladly obliged.
As it turned out, Empire Deli And Restaurant had nothing to do with George Rocha or my French macaroons. But, the moment we saw the menu, we didn't think twice about staying. -
One Night Only
Posted on April 30, 2011 12:00AM

My parents got my friends and I a room to stay in for the night. As usual, I was the first in the hotel and still the last to arrive at the event. Nicia had always defied school rules and wore a bloody red gown that made her look more Chinese than Japanese. Gail played deaf to the rules, too, and went to the prom sporting a body-hugging gown that showed off her 36-24-36 figure packed in a 5-foot package. Zhe and Mai were quite boyish but they also wore black gowns that suited them well.
Looking back, I now know why students were quick to fall for each other after prom night. Even if you see your male classmates on a daily basis, it's always a shock to see them in formal wear since that's a "One Night Only" thing. So the girls would now have a mental image of who looked good in formal wear, and that image would change the way they see these guys for months to come. It's funny how much I can make sense of these things now that I'm older.

The Bedroom Blog Diaries: Perfect Valentine's Dates Do Happen, After All
Posted on January 19, 2011 12:00AM

I loved the place—the ambiance, the gourmet food, the soft music, the lights. Lucky Logan, a fireworks display went up somewhere near the area, right in the middle of dinner. Of course, he kissed me while different colors filled the dark sky. I began to wonder: Why is it that with Logan...fireworks play a big part in the picture? Haha, go figure.
Places and moments like these exist only in dreams--that’s what I initially thought. Right then and there, I admitted that this date has always been a part of my fantasies. I never thought it could happen in real life, where the usual date spots are highly commercialized restaurants that offer nothing more than stuffy ambiance and expensive, pre-packed food that’s either too greasy or too salty. -
The Bedroom Blog Diaries: Find Romance, Find Isabelo
Posted on January 17, 2011 12:00PM

We stopped in front of a big metal gate and knocked. I was right. A waiter asked Logan for his name, confirmed his reservation, and opened the gate to let us pass.
Wow! It was a different world inside. Elegant lights. Tasteful garden furniture. Soft music. Candles in small glasses on top of tables. Romantic vines, wines, and rustic aura. It was so beautiful.
Logan really knows my taste, I thought.
