Veronica, The Teenage Slapper
Posted on March 27, 2011 12:00AM

My friends and I hated Mark back then. In fact, we despised him. Whenever someone in our juvenile class cried or got traumatized, it was always directly or indirectly because of him. Unfortunately for Jed, he was Mark’s favorite “marked” man.
During recess, Mark and his gang would round up most of the guys who were new in school. He would take them to where my friends and I were exchanging teenage chitchat and have them sit in one big circle. One by one, he would ask the guys who among us girls they have a crush on. -
No Reaction

It had been a very stressful Friday. Matt miraculously survived two press conferences, one product launch, one frustrating photo shoot, and a dozen edited articles in the span of 10 hours. As for me, well, not even Sir P’s dirty-old-man lines could rain on my parade. I was that high.
We were at Matt’s condo again. We had Chinese takeout for dinner (He ordered. I didn’t have the heart to tell him I hate Chinese food) and the now usual red wine on the side. For dessert, something sweet—honey—that I’m now licking off Matt’s naked chest.

The Intimacy We Finally Share
Posted on November 7, 2009 12:00AM
Intimacy.
The dictionary tells us that it refers to "the feeling of being in a close personal association and belonging together.” In human relationships, the level of intimacy varies from couple to couple, and sometimes, intimacy can sidestep formalities...blurring the fine, fine line between lust and love.

Too Many Questions
Posted on November 1, 2009 12:00AM
“What’s wrong, Veronica?”
“Oh, nothing,” I said. “The wine’s getting to me I guess.”
“Well, I think you’ve had enough,” Matt said as he reached over and took my glass. “Let’s have dinner. What will you have?”
We were at Barcino, Matt and I, enjoying a bottle of red wine and a plate of antipasti. It was Friday again--two full weeks since I left Sam in his condo, sipping champagne.

Dinner Surprises
Posted on October 16, 2009 12:00AM
“What do you mean you forgot to take pictures?”
“I mean that exactly. Sam left his camera in your room, so he went back to the hotel,” Carl explained as we left Sam in the lobby and walked toward Cafe Feliz, a small yet elegant restaurant at the main floor. It offers a wide selection of delectable Western and Asian dishes, and of course, local delicacies—mostly Bangus dishes—Dagupan is famous for.
“He didn’t join us na sa plaza,” Carl continued. “You had a fever daw e, binantayan ka raw. 'Di mo ba siya nakita?”
So it was Sam who kissed my forehead.
