Flirting With Domestication
Posted on September 19, 2011 12:00AM

Our first stop was Kayangan Lake, which is around 30 minutes from the port area. After paying an expensive entrance fee of P200 per head, we began the 15-minute steep trek toward the picturesque lake. Logan was behind me. He kept pushing my butt up the trail. When we reached Kayangan Lake, all the difficulty was worth it. -
Way Too Many Episodes Of Desperate Housewives

The next day, we woke up to Arya and Mel's voices outside our nipa hut. When Logan checked his watch, it was almost 9AM! Sh*t!
We were supposed to meet them an hour earlier. After putting on our bathing suits in a jiffy, the two of us raced to the common bathroom, splashed water on our faces, brushed our teeth, and made a mad dash back to the room to grab our things for island hopping. -
An Itch That Not Even Logan Can Scratch
Posted on September 17, 2011 12:00AM

We called front desk and told them about the swaying ceiling fan. They gladly fixed the sitch by bringing in a desk fan that mercifully worked. When Logan and I resumed what we had been up to, the light from Arya and Mel's nipa hut (the one next to us) streamed inside ours. We could hear Mel talking about work to someone on the phone for almost 30 minutes. When the lights went out and we were finally on second base, we heard another creak, this time from the bed. Every time we moved, the bed creaked loudly, and since we could hear Mel talking on the phone earlier, they probably could hear the bed moaning, too.

"Bed Bugs" Ruin Holiday Hanky Panky…Boo!
Posted on September 16, 2011 12:00AM

When I first walked into our room in KokosNuss Garden Resort, I couldn't help but feel like I was walking into an old Nora Aunor flick where the leading lady always lives in a quaint nipa hut with wooden everything, overlooking a large rice field. That's what our fan rooms look and feel like.
The room was small and had a double rattan bed with a relatively soft mattress. What gave it its slightly pornographic aura was the mosquito net (because these pests are abundant here), hanging seductively from the ceiling…draping down on the edges of the bed. Eek! -
Couples Need Other Couples
Posted on September 12, 2011 12:00AM

Coron is teeming with foreigners. Wherever you go, you're sure to walk into Caucasian couples, groups of foreign backpackers, and the very common "jackpot si ate" couples. If you're talking tourism, it's a pretty good thing. But if you're a Filipino exploring your own country, can they please lower their food and souvenir prices because seriously, we don't earn dollars here, mate!
Anyway, we had dinner at this garden-style restaurant with soaring high prices. The portions were small, but the place was great and they have a wide range of cocktails, including the Coron Sling (damn that Mindoro Sling in Puerto Galera...oh the memories, oh Charlie).
