Modern Women Want Different Things
Posted on February 3, 2012 12:00AM

"I'm not saying I don't want it," I corrected Charlie. "I'm just saying that I don't want it...yet. Am I making sense?"
"No."
I sighed.
"Okay, " I continued. "Here's the way I see it. That property--that's Logan's, not mine. Sure, when I become his wife, magiging sa akin din 'yun by law but...I want to have my own property, something that I bought with my own money. And besides, Logan's property is on the 'Upper East Side.'"

The Bedroom Blog Diaries: Are Women Born To Help Shape Men?
Posted on February 14, 2011 12:00AM

Over dinner with Logan’s siblings last year, his older brother kept throwing us not-so-subtle hints about matrimony. When you’re seated right in front of two other couples who might as well be your future in-laws, you really can’t dodge the bullets. The marriage talk started when Kuya VJ (Logan’s sister’s boyfriend) told us about their plans of buying a house somewhere in Antipolo. After a few minutes of financial talk, Logan’s big brother started hinting that we should get married in the very near future.
“Sabagay, marunong na siyang magluto at maglaba,” Logan joked. “Pwede na.” -
Facebook Riot: The "Logan is Mr. Big" Post
Posted on February 9, 2011 12:00AM

So, I did. I asked our common guy friends if their way of brushing off any talk about marriage is a reflex, a conscious survival tactic, or both. Just as Logan had predicted, most of the guys cringe at the mere mention of the "M" word. Most of the time, men are not ready to talk about it because they are not yet at the point in their lives when they’re ready to take it on seriously. Just like Logan.
Ironically, it’s amazing how mature some men are about marriage. Women, like me, go crazy over the details. Men go bonkers over the expenses. In this scenario, it’s the men who see the bigger picture. -
The Bedroom Blog Diaries: Men, Marriage, And Mr. Big
Posted on February 7, 2011 12:00AM

One night, while I was finishing yet another episode of The Vampire Diaries, Arya sent me a buzz on Yahoo! Messenger and told me about this Bridal Fair in Megamall happening in February. By this time, The Vampire Diaries has successfully stabilized some of my wedding-crazy hormones, so I was able to register at the website Arya told me about without so much as a fidget. After our Coron trip this February, Logan and I will accompany our "Happy People" couple to the Bridal Fair in SM Megamall. Logan didn’t go berserk when I told him about it via chat. -
The Bedroom Blog Diaries: When You're 25...
Posted on February 6, 2011 12:00AM

It never occurred to me that at the very young age of 25, I would turn wacko over weddings. It never occurred to me that at 25, I would feel the itching desire to make the rest of the world shut up about its not-so-subtle wedding-related inquiries. I mean, when you’re 25, you’re supposed to be going silly over fashion, music, gadgets, hot men, and everything else you can spend your young professional’s money on. When you’re 25, you’re supposed to gag over the thought of marriage, thinking that it would hinder you from making your New York dreams and other big plans come true.
