One week later, we went out again, this time to play bowling somewhere in the South. It was raining again. Why does it always rain whenever we meet?
The last time I bowled, I was still missing my two front teeth. I kept getting a gutter ball that contributed much to his amusement. I would have thrown a ball at his face, if only the damn thing wasn’t 12lbs heavy. My irritation quickly subsided when I saw how his face lit up with each turn. This was his turf, I thought. So I let him teach me how to play. -

Finally, he arrived at 12:45AM. I’ve always fantasized about what our meeting would be like. In my farthest dreams, I imagined it just the way it happened in reality—on a cold and rainy night in Makati, on the deck of Greenbelt 3 with tiny yellow lights below. What surprised me was Matt himself.
