What The Hell Was Wrong?
Posted on November 21, 2009 12:00AM

Two months. That’s how long Matt and I have been in this state of whatever. The past two months had been a roller coaster ride of emotional and psychological events that really put my patience to the test.
At certain times, it scares me how Matt can be so sweet one moment and so cold the next. How he would touch me in so many ways possible tonight and then be distant two days after.
It scares me, how I feel like I know him well today and then he'll become a total stranger to me tomorrow.
It scares me...because I don’t know what he’s thinking.

When Your Friends Are In A Relationship...

“O kwento na,” Gail said.
“It’s my turn already?” I asked.
“Yeah, may sarili ka na atang mundo e,” Nicia said before she took a sip of milk. “Kayo na ba ni Matt?”

So... You've Been Replaced
Posted on November 18, 2009 07:30PM

Moving on is always easier said than done. After the first and most debilitating breakup I went through, I remember asking one of my friends why it's so hard to just cut loose and get over someone. "When you're in a relationship, you invest a certain amount of yourself in the other person. Let's say you initially give him 50% of yourself. The longer you're together, the more that figure grows. If you end up investing 70% of yourself in him, and he breaks up with you, then you'll have to find a way to get that 70% back without him," she said. It makes a lot of sense when you think about it.
Regaining the part of yourself that you've wholeheartedly given to someone else is already difficult, but the fact that you've been changed by the whole experience of falling in love makes it even trickier. What new, hybrid personality of yours will fill the void left by the part of you that you've given up to an ex?

Oh, The Joys Of Being Boyfriend-Free (For Now)

“Where are you na, V?” Nicia asked over the phone. “Where tayo magkikita?”
“I’m home na,” I answered. “Packing really mabilis.”
It’s that time of the year once again—I'm having an annual slumber party with my best friends since Sailor Moon days. From Makati, I went straight home to “pack really mabilis” and that meant bringing my Mom’s gigantic “maleta” for a one-night stay at the Crowne Plaza.

To Believe Or Not To Believe
Posted on November 16, 2009 12:00AM
The movie was a tearjerker, thank God, and did a good job of hiding the real reason my mascara was all over my cheeks. Aldrich was caught between chivalry and college-dude hormones, so I decided to fake it and told a white lie of meeting old girl friends for coffee. Of course, Aldrich and Matt knew better. Well, the latter, I wasn’t so sure.
A few days passed after that Friday night in Glorietta. Matt went M.I.A. (missing in action) again. It was Wednesday when he finally surfaced with a text message rehashing the many headaches he has at work. Amazing, huh? It was as if he didn’t just deny our, umm, whatever it was between us.
