Why I Don't Mind Being Single
Posted on March 22, 2010 06:00AM

The reason is simple: I have lots and lots of guy friends!
Here are the reasons having lots of guy friends beats being in a relationship: -
The C And V Dating Spree
Posted on March 15, 2010 12:00AM
It all started out as a dare: to date as many guys as possible. No commitments whatsoever. Charlie was my partner in crime. We were practically in every dating scene in the metro--Katipunan, Eastwood, Ortigas, Greenbelt, and Timog. Well, why not? I thought. We are both single.
It was fun. I enjoyed dressing up and meeting single men my age or, sometimes, a few years older, but not anyone beyond 26. When you’re single and living in one of the best dating scenes in the metro, you experience such a rush when the clock strikes “uwian na!” and you hurry to fix your makeup, take a cab to the “resto/bar of the night,” meet Charlie and her pool of men, and just talk and drink the night away. -
"No, I Am NOT Veronica"
Posted on February 2, 2010 04:00PM

This is what I often find myself telling friends and colleagues who have become avid readers of Cosmo.ph’s highly popular Bedroom Blog by Veronica when they ask me if I’m the real author of that blog. And sometimes, even saying an outright “no” is not enough to convince them. “Ows? Parang ikaw e. Dali na, secret lang, promise,” they’d prod.
When a really close friend (who pretty much knows all my dating exploits and love woes) asked me who the author of Bedroom Blog is, suspecting it was me, perhaps, I had to ask her: Why do you think people who know me think I wrote the blog? Her answer: “Kasi pareho kayo—magulo rin ang love life mo.” -
One For The Road
Posted on December 31, 2009 12:00PM

I've mentioned in a previous entry that I'm an Audrey Hepburn fan, and that Roman Holiday and Breakfast at Tiffany's are two of my top three favorite Audrey films. There's a less popular movie of hers that completes my list, slotting between the two aforementioned entries: Two for the Road, in which she stars opposite Albert Finney.
Aside from the use of nonlinear narrative to demonstrate the finer and lesser points of a marriage over the years, Two for the Road is one of my favorite films of all time because it is an honest portrayal of married life through the story of main characters Mark (Albert) and Jo (Audrey), even providing one of the most spot-on definitions of marriage that I know: "Marriage is when a woman asks a man to take off his pajamas--and it's because she wants to send them to the laundry."
Not only his PJs, I wish to point out; also his shirts, trousers, handkerchiefs, and socks. And--God help all married women--his knickers.- No Boyfriend Since Birth--Who Cares When You've Got Friends?

A year has passed and I'm still single.
Despite my years in Cosmo, I have to say that I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing when it comes to relationships. Honestly. So even if it doesn't really bother me, I felt I had to find out why I've remained single despite all the dates I've been in.
I'm really not the type of guy who thinks he knows everything, so I sought advice from the people whom I think know better when it comes to matters of the heart. When I got the chance to go to Singapore recently, I got in touch with one of my favorite friends and author of Summit Books' chick lit No Boyfriend Since Birth for some dating advice. - No Boyfriend Since Birth--Who Cares When You've Got Friends?
