The Morena Girl's Guide To Wearing Bright Makeup

Don’t be afraid of corals or sapphire shades!

Sun-kissed skin is the perfect canvas to make bright colors pop! Here are tips to bring out your natural tan:

Pucker up with plum.

Avoid choosing colors that are too light or pale on your lips as these can make you look washed out. Instead, make your puckers pop with deep berry shades like Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer in HD Carnelian for cool undertones and fiery reds and corals like Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer in HD Fire Opal for warm undertones.

Choose jewel tones for your eyes.

Skip the pastels that can make your skin look ashy and gray. Bright, jewel tones like Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art Lid + Line + Lash in Lilac Luster and Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art Lid + Line + Lash in Green Glimmer are great because they give you a unique look without being over the top. We love that this eye shadow comes in 2-in-1 coordinated shades that are super easy to blend together. You get both pigment and sparkle in just one product!

To apply, swipe the cream shadow across your lids and add a little more closer to your lash line for a deeper contrast. Blend it so that the color fades as you approach your brow line. Then use the slim brush applicator to add sparkle to your eyelid and your lash line for that instant pop! You can make your eye shadow (and your powder!) last longer by applying a primer like Revlon Photoready Prime + Anti-Shine Balm before application.

Experiment with bright-colored liners.

If you don’t have the time to apply eye shadow, you can still make your eyes pop by using a bright-colored eyeliner like Revlon ColorStay Eye Liner in Sapphire. The bright blue color naturally pops against your morena skin, and if you’re blessed with brown eyes, it can even emphasize the color of your peepers.

If you’re scared that you’ll never get that perfect line with just one swipe, apply short dashes along your upper lash line instead. This will give you more control and make it easier for you to fill in the gaps to make that perfect line. For more drama, turn it into a cat eye by adding a little flick that extends past your lashes. Finish the look with Revlon Bold Lacquer Length + Volume Mascara in Black.
