5 Rules To Live By For Healthy, Glowing Skin

Having healthy, luminous skin is the foundation of looking and feeling good. But getting there is a commitment! These five things are easy to do—but the key is turning them into habits.

1. Drink Up.

PBA Courtside Reporter Mara Aquino reminds us that “If you have beautiful skin, you are well represented. Your skin is something that you wear every single day.” VJ Ai dela Cruz also emphasized, "Our skin is our best accessory."

One way to achieve that is by drinking the recommended 8-10 glasses of water daily to flush out toxins in your body and hydrate the skin from within. You can also drink natural juices to add to your fluid intake. This improves the skin’s elasticity and makes it less likely to crack or wrinkle. 

2. Move It!

Understanding your body is the first rule to looking and feeling great, according to yogi Erika Padilla. The benefits of exercising go beyond losing weight or building muscle mass. It promotes circulation, which keeps skin healthy and vibrant.

3. Eat Right.

Beautiful skin starts with nourishment from within. The Plate Method is an ideal guide to help us maintain a balanced diet. Nutritionist Rio Montevilla recommends that fruits and vegetables should consume half of your plate, so you can benefit from powerful antioxidants to help protect and nourish the skin.

4. Moisturize!

Don't go a day without hydrating your skin, says Dr. Pearl Otic. The skin care expert emphasizes, “Moisturizing allows the skin to function at peak performance.”

5. Get A Little Help From The Experts.

Always engage yourself in events where you can learn and have fun at the same time!

On September 5, 2015, Jergens, in partnership with Araneta Center, successfully mounted the “#GetGlowingwithJergens Skincare Fair” at Gateway Mall Activity Area. Young women from the metro were treated to a variety of activities ranging from typography classes to photoshoot sessions. They got to learn more about proper skin care through one-on-one consultations with a skin care expert and a nutritionist. Celebrity guests MYX VJ Ai Dela Cruz, PBA Courtside reporter Mara Aquino, and yogi Erika Padilla shared their beauty secrets to the lucky attendees.

One of the highlights of the event was the launch of the newest Jergens variant—The Hydrating Coconut Moisturizer. Its formula is infused with coconut oil and coconut water that makes skin supple and luminous.
