This Skincare Expert Shares Which Cleanser You Should Be Using, Based On Your Skin Type

Since you wash off your facial cleanser right away, does the type you use actually matter? The short answer: Yes. We got to chat with Neutrogena's Scientific Engagement Skin Health Expert Era Anwar, who shared that cleansers have a big effect on your skin. If you use cleansers with harsh ingredients, it can "strip your skin of its natural lipids, leaving your skin tight and making the skin barrier susceptible to external aggressors." *Gulp.* So, maybe it’s time you recognize cleansers for what they are: the foundation of your skincare routine.

Here’s Anwar’s suggestion: “Look for gentle cleansers that have the technology to remove dirt without stripping the skin’s natural lipids. Sensitive Skin
