Beauty trends come and go, but glowing skin never goes out of style. Keeping your complexion soft, smooth, and bouncy will not just help you make the best impression wherever you go, but it can also be a source of pride for when you need that extra confidence boost.

But while you might be giving your face the most attention when it comes to skincare, you’re missing out if you’re not giving the rest of your body the same TLC. To get that ~total glow~, you need to take care of your complexion from head to toe.

Need some tips? We went ahead and asked some of our favorite glow-getters to share their personal beauty secrets. ICYDK, Cosmopolitan Philippines and St. Ives recently teamed up to search for fun and fearless Pinays who love expressing themselves through video content. The winners—the girls of Generation Glow—went through weeks of challenges before earning their place as St. Ives ambassadors.

Below, their tips and product recos that can hopefully help you get the glowing skin of your dreams:

Always double cleanse.

Cleansing is an important skincare step that helps remove dirt, excess oil, and other impurities that might otherwise trigger acne. But more often than not, doing it once doesn’t guarantee that you rid your skin of these nasty elements completely. This is where double cleansing comes in.

Trisha Gutierrez says, “Double cleansing is a must for me, especially at night, to make sure that my skin is squeaky clean since I work during the day as a frontliner. I love to start my night skincare routine by removing the dirt on my skin with St. Ives Cleanse and Hydrate Facial Cleansing Wipes, followed by my favorite St. Ives facial cleansers. I like alternating between St. Ives Soothing Facial Cleanser and St. Ives Blemish Free Facial Cleanser depending on the needs of my skin.”

Cleanse, scrub, and moisturize.

Don’t have much time for a multi-step routine? Keep it to a minimum when you try this three-step regimen: cleanse, scrub, and moisturize. You don’t even have to scrub everyday given that you only need to exfoliate about three times a week!

Jasmin Lim shares, “Whether it's a busy day outside or I’m just working from home, cleansing, moisturizing, and occasionally scrubbing my skin are the three steps that pretty much make up my skincare routine. I just love how the St. Ives Acne Control Tea Tree Cleanser perks my skin up in the morning and leaves that gentle scent of tea tree. Then, when partnered with the St. Ives Renewing Avocado and Coconut Oil Soft Cream, my skin receives the moisture and freshness it needs. On some days, I add the St. Ives Soft Skin Avocado and Honey Scrub in my routine to help me get that extra glow!”

Exfoliate your knees and elbows.

Dry patches on the knees and elbows happen to everyone. But should this worry you, pay particular attention to these areas.

Try Kiara Ruiz’s routine: “Whenever I shower, I always make sure to pamper myself with a nice, refreshing loofah scrub! For this, I use the St. Ives Rose Water and Aloe Vera Body Wash, and it smells superb! It’s super relaxing and it leaves my skin super duper smooth with regular use. On days when I can exfoliate, I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub on my knees and elbows to help buff off all of the dead skin on these areas.”

Never skip lotion.

Applying lotion daily is one of the easiest things you can do to pamper your complexion. Not only will this help moisturize your skin, but it can also help you feel fresh throughout the day.

Hillary Muyalde shares, “I never forget to apply lotion day and night, which is why I consistently use St. Ives Renewing Body Lotion with collagen and elastin. This lotion is a lifesaver because it helps make my skin feel supple, plus it smells really good.”

Exfoliate, but don’t overdo it.

Exfoliating helps remove dirt and dead skin cells to keep your complexion smooth and clear. But this is one of those things that you must never overdo if you want to get the best results. Chrizanne Tagle says, “Exfoliating is really a game changer. Use a face scrub thrice a week to remove dead skin cells and it will help leave your skin smooth and glowing!”

Nicole Nuguid adds though that one of her skincare no-nos is overdoing exfoliation. “Over-exfoliating can lead to skin damage and hypersensitivity, so remember to only scrub two or three times a week.”
