While quarantine has taken away the joys of going out with friends, it can’t stop us from moving our bonding sessions online in an effort to keep in touch with our ~favorite~ people. From e-numans and game nights to random chats and unexpected video calls, we learned that we can still enjoy the company of our friends even in a virtual setting. Internet gamer and streamer Alodia Gosiengfiao knows it to be true! She has turned to mobile gaming as a fun way to catch up with close friends and even meet new people. Here’s what she has to say:
Can you tell us your history in mobile gaming? What made you interested in this hobby? How long have you been playing?
My mobile gaming honestly started with Mobile Legends (ML). I was a huge PC MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) player so when I saw ML, I said, "Hey, this looks like what I normally play," so it really piqued my interest. I’ve started playing ML at around 2018.
What are some of the games you’re hooked to this quarantine? How has mobile gaming helped you power through these uncertain times?
I play ML, Call Of Duty, and Among Us! These games definitely make me feel that I am not alone in these uncertain times. I stay connected with my friends and we get to play and interact with each other every time we play and party!
Have you tried hosting a game party with friends?
Oh yes, I usually play Among Us with my friends! [I don’t really prepare] because I know I’ll be in good hands. I know their personalities and how to have fun with these people.
Can mobile gaming teach you something about adulting and real life? What are some ~life lessons~ you learned through mobile gaming?
Just like in MOBA games, [I learned] that you’d really need a party to win the game. In real life, we need the support of our family and friends and each of us have a role.
Any advice for mobile gaming newbies? How do we make the most of our gaming session with friends?
Get a good connection because lag really kills the game! Haha! Of course, you want to do your best in the game so you can carry your party to victory.
