Here's another plot twist we didn't see coming in 2020: Exes and former love team partners Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto teamed up to star in a twin bill virtual drama, titled Love Unlock. It was released in August on Kapamilya Online Live, and Joshua and Julia played ~exes~ in the drama.

In a recent interview with Bianca Gonzalez for Cinema News At Home Edition, the 22-year-old actor spoke openly about his experience working again with Julia after they parted ways in 2019, and said he didn't expect to be given a project with her this soon: "Siyempre maliit lang ang industriya so sabi ko magkakatrabaho at magkakatrabaho kami pero hindi pa ngayon. Feeling ko bibigyan kami ng project baka next year pa or next, next year. Hindi ko in-expect na ngayon din agad."

Even though they had a highly publicized breakup last year, the two always maintained good ties, and Joshua shared he had no issue working with his ex. "Pero sa akin wala namang kaso," he said. "Okay naman ako kay Julia. Wala naman kaming problema."

He was then asked about the thing he missed the most about working with Julia, and said, "Yung presence niya." He also explained that he missed the feeling of having someone "sa lahat ng ginagawa ko, parang team."

Joshua closed off the topic by revealing that he and Julia had a short text exchange after they filmed their drama and said their thank yous to each other.
