Here's Your First Look At Julia Barretto And Joshua Garcia In Their New Zombie Film

Guys, a zombie film is coming our way and it'll star Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto! Block Z will be Star Cinema's first zombie film in history. 

During their story conference earlier this year, Block Z director Mikhail Red revealed that the film will feature a group trapped inside a university that has been quarantined due to a ~mysterious~ infection. In order to survive, they have to navigate their way out using makeshift weapons and supplies. JoshLia's characters will be named PJ and Lucas: Julia will play a medical student while Joshua will play a varsity basketball player! 

Today, we finally got to see them ~in character~, thanks to Instagram Stories and photos from Mikhail (FYI, he's also working on a student-thriller film ft. Sue Ramirez and Khalil Ramos). Check them out below:

Last year, Block Z had an open casting call for extras, where people who can pass as college students and professors and "act like fast-moving zombies" could get the chance to be part of the "zombie horde." 

This means we'll be expecting intense chase scenes and fast zombies, like the ones from Kingdom and World War Z! The film's cast also includes Maris Racal and Ian Veneracion.

Block Z will be JoshLia's fifth movie together. We previously saw them in the rom-com movies Vince And Kath And James, Love You To The Stars And Back, Unexpectedly Yours, and I Love You, Hater. They recently wrapped up their first ABS-CBN teleserye, Ngayon At Kailanman.
