KC Concepcion Helps Release Sea Turtles In Palawan
KC Concepcion went to San Vicente in Palawan and spent a glorious weekend holiday enjoying Palawan's cool breeze and calming blues. We totally agree with her when she said "Palawan, I’m always in the mood for u." We're itching for a Palawan escape ourselves.
As if a Palawan holiday wasn't enough, KC even upped her vacation ante when she dropped in at a turtle releasing in Brgy. San Isidro, Long Beach, San Vicente. San Vicente is one of the best-known places in Palawan for spotting sea turtles or pawikans. A local ordinance (a first of its kind!) was drafted and approved to protect specifically all marine turtles in Brgy. San Isidro. A Municipal Ordinance had also just been approved to protect the pawikans in the whole of San Vicente, Palawan. The peak sea turtle nesting season lasts from October to March—perfectly timed during KC's recent visit.
KC joined in when some baby sea turtles were released at the sanctuary. During KC's visit, some 58 new hatchlings were released in the hopes of improving the turtle population in the area.
Palawan is definitely a holiday paradise and KC gushes that part of the Palawan experience is the magic of seeing tea turtles thrive: "No trip to Palawan is ever complete without spotting sea turtles, or ‘pawikans’ in the sea. Today I was happy to help release 58 newly born turtles into the wild, whose nests and eggs were protected from poaching and harm. Sea turtles are an endangered species and they belong back in the beautiful sea."
KC was so immersed in the magic of releasing the baby turtles back to sea, that she literally got down on her knees to encourage the hatchlings to find their way to the water. "When your baby turtle can’t wait to get to the sea. Us humans must make way!" she said. Now, KC's convinced us—we're definitely doing this during our next Palawan visit!
