So Brave! Neri Naig Completes Her COVID Vaccination While Pregnant
Neri Naig, who's currently pregnant with baby number two with husband Chito Miranda, said that she has finally completed her vaccine against COVID-19.
Neri posted a photo on Instagram as she received her second jab in Alfonso, Cavite, and explained *why* she got vaccinated and urged pregnant mothers to do the same.
Echoing everyone's sentiments on hearing friends or relatives contracting COVID, the actress wrote, "COVID is real. Mas nararamdaman namin na totoo siya dahil every time na magbubukas kami ng Facebook, ang dami na naming kakilalang namamatay dahil sa COVID."
In her post, the celebrity mom said that she sought clearance from her OB-GYN before she got her vaccine, not only for her protection but for her son Cash as well.
Neri said that she got inoculated with Sinovac. "Kaya siyempre kung ano na ang available, 'yon na ang kunin ko. Better kaysa sa wala," she said. Recounting her vaccine side effects, Neri shared that she just felt sleepy after receiving her first dose. She had the same effects from her second dose, except that this time, she only experienced pain in the arm.
Addressing pregnant women who have yet to be vaccinated, Neri said, "Sa lahat ng pregnant, huwag po kayong matakot magpabakuna. Tanungin niyo ang OB-GYN niyo kung kailan kayo pwede magpabakuna."
She added, "Hindi masakit yung gamot. Mas masakit pa yung swab! Manipis lang yung needle, kaya kayang kaya niyo yan! Para sa pamilya natin! Let us all be responsible."
Of course, Neri isn't the first celebrity to speak up about urging the public to get vaccinated. In July, Erwan Heussaff was also inoculated with the Sinovac vaccine and said, "The way I see it, anyone getting vaccinated at this point, regardless of the brand, is privileged, so don't be choosy. If you can get it, do it."
