Just A List Of K-Pop Stars And The Beauty Brands They're Endorsing
It's fascinating to me how makeup and skincare brands tap both K-pop boy bands and girl groups as endorsers for their products. I grew up believing that makeup was something only women can use. But along with the rise of Hallyu, that belief was broken. Makeup and skincare are for everyone to enjoy! Makeup is a tool of self-expression and skincare is an essential part of one's daily routine.
The fact that our favorite K-pop idols are also telling us to be free to express ourselves through makeup and to pamper ourselves by taking care of our skin makes it all the more empowering. If you're in the market for makeup or skincare products, then this list might help you with that!
Here are some K-pop idols and the makeup and/or skincare brands they recently endorse or collaborate with:
1. BLACKPINK
The girls of BLACKPINK are popular endorsers for a variety of brands, from affordable to high-end. Rosé was recently tapped as a global ambassador for Korean luxury skincare brand Sulwhasoo, while Lisa is a global brand ambassador for MAC, and has launched a MAC x L collaboration. Jennie endorses HERA, a contemporary Seoul-based beauty brand, and Jisoo is a global ambassador for DIOR and inspired the brand's Adapt Lip Glow in shade #031 Strawberry.
2. SEVENTEEN
Most members of SEVENTEEN have endorsed makeup and skincare products. For local brands, Joshua and Seungkwan are ambassadors for LANEIGE's NEO line. Leader S.Coups is the first exclusive model for SOME BY MI. Hoshi, Dokyeom, and Seungkwan are faces of BRING GREEN. Wonwoo endorses Huxley. On the other hand, Banila Co's ambassador, Jeonghan, who was en route to Canada back in August, has been seen at Incheon Airport promoting the brand's Dear Hydration product.
Mingyu has shot advertisements for Lancôme and Laura Mercier. Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Jun are seen using Dior's Lip Maximizer as they feature in NYLON Japan's March 2023 issue. Vernon and Dino are endorsers for Bioderma, and The8 and Jun were ambassadors for RAWQUEST.
3. TWICE
Similarly, makeup and skincare brands also love pairing up with the members of TWICE. Sana and Dahyun are exclusive models for A'pieu Cosmetics. Momo is the brand muse of Wonjungyo, owned by TWICE's makeup director. Jihyo was recently named the newest ambassador for the beauty brand Milk Touch too!
Mina is a global ambassador for SK-II, Tzuyu is the face of Visee Kosé, both of which are Japanese brands. Nayeon also just recently became the newest muse for Givenchy Beauty.
4. NCT
How many of us have gone to Nature Republic and bought something because of NCT 127? Guilty as charged! Next on my list is the brand called SOMETHINC, whose "New Squad Leaders" include Renjun, Jeno, Chenle, Jaemin, and Jisung of NCT Dream. I'll also probably add Round A'Round to the list because Shotaro and Sungchan are endorsers of this beauty brand known for their green tea-based products.
5. Stray Kids
For the boys of Stray Kids, they trust Nacific whose products provide "comfort and relaxation to the skin" using only the healthiest and naturally-sourced ingredients.
6 and 7. IVE and LE SSERAFIM
They may be rookies in the industry, but IVE and LE SSERAFIM already command a strong fanbase that brands have clearly recognized. Beauty brands DEWYTREE and CLIO have both selected IVE's Yujin as the face of their companies. Wonyoung, on the other hand, is the model for Innisfree. Another IVE member, Rei, is also the muse of another Korean skincare brand, Bonajour.
Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM's Kazuha is the newest use for ETUDE, joining the ranks of the brand's iconic models such as Sandara Park, and SHINee to name a few. Last year, Sakura also became the endorser for 3CE with the launch of their 3CE x TOILETPAPER collaboration.
This list is probably just the tip of the iceberg. After all, South Korea has a lot of makeup and skincare brands that tap the potential of K-pop idols to promote their brands. Who are your favorite Korean makeup or skincare endorsers? Let us know in the comments below!
