Live entertainment is officially back with a vengeance. Due to the endless stream of concerts and fan meets happening each week, K-pop fans are feeling the strain on their wallets. More discerning fans have resorted to only watching their ultimate biases, while others have become staunch members of #teambahay.
MAKEITLIVE makes their next fan-centric gathering called K-Verse worth spending for by inviting not one, not two, but THREE acts on one stage: TAEYEON, THE BOYZ, and aespa. Happening on April 11, 7 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, K-Verse goes beyond the typical concert setup by inviting SONEs, TheBs, and MYs for one whole day of fan gatherings. In fact, K-Verse was created to "promote the spirit of being together in support of each fandom, while still having each other’s own identities as a fan."
Here’s a quick rundown of all the things we can’t wait to witness at K-Verse:
1. The dazzling visuals of THE BOYZ
THE BOYZ are sassy, fancy, and ready to show you what they’ve got! But with 11 members, it can get confusing where to look when they all hit the stage. Sunwoo, Eric, Q, New, Sangyeon, Kevin, Jacob, and Hak Nyeon have their own "Maverick" charms, but we’re excited to see the Bermuda Triangle visual line consisting of sub vocalist Younghoon, lead vocalist Hyunjae, and main dancer Juyeon.
Beyond their striking visuals, we can’t wait to hear their "Sweet" voices and see the synchronized choreographies that helped them land a spot on the reality show Kingdom: Legendary War. "Thrill Ride" and "The Stealer" are our top picks!
2. The Savage-ry of aespa
Winter, Karina, Giselle, and Ningning debuted as a K-pop group during the height of the pandemic, but they instantly won the hearts of MYs with their unique and addicting blend of dance, rap, and hip-hop tunes.
Girl power at its purest, we’ll surely be flipping our hair and grooving to the beat as aespa performs "Illusion," "Black Mamba," and "Next Level." The big question is, will their avatars (AI counterparts) grace the giant screen and perform alongside the girls?
3. The delicate sensibilities of TAEYEON
You must be living under a rock if you don’t know who TAEYEON is. As the leader and main vocalist of Girls' Generation, the veteran singer has carved a name for herself by singing ballads for soundtracks then releasing her first solo EP in 2015.
We’re raring to hear TAEYEON hit all the high notes for "I," "Fine," and "INVU." At the same time, we’re crossing our fingers she’ll sing the light and bubbly "Weekend."
Sing, dance, and have the time of your life as you step into K-Verse. Tickets are available via TicketNet Online and all TicketNet outlets. Attendees will each get a K-Verse fan kit, which consists of a tote bag, sticker set, keychain, souvenir card, and a GenAd ticket to the Hallyu Market. See you, chingus!
