8 Major Adulting Milestones To Tick Off In 2018

New year, new goals.

The year 2017 was a total roller coaster: You got the job you've always wanted (or finally quit your old one), went places, met new people, fell in love (or fell out of it), and did so much more. And in between the great days and awful ones, you were probably able to tick a thing or two off your bucket list as well.

Now that the year's almost over, we're challenging you to take your adulting game to the next level in 2018 with these resolutions:

Step up your skincare routine
If you’re the facial wash–toner–moisturizer kind of woman, it’s time to take your skincare routine up a notch. Apply sunscreen daily, exfoliate and use a facial mask twice a week, and invest in an eye cream and serum to keep signs of aging at bay.

Exercise consistently
If you can't hit the gym regularly, the next best thing you can do is to exercise at home. Download and save some workout videos on your smartphone (or check out the workouts on Cosmo!) and get your body moving first thing in the morning. You'll spend the rest of your day feeling energized!

Ask someone out
It's 2018, girl. Stop waiting for that guy to message you and make the first move! If it doesn’t work out, at least you tried, right?

Learn something new
Hone your skills (or learn a new one!) by attending a workshop or a full-time course. Calligraphy, cooking, a foreign language—whatever it is, it’s never too late to learn it.

Enroll in further studies
If you're thinking of studying abroad, the best time to do so is in your 20s, while you still don't have a lot of obligations. It won't hurt to apply—you might even nab a scholarship!

Forget all the drama
Start 2018 right by letting go of all the grudges you've been holding. Remember, a positive aura attracts positive results. Stop looking to others to brighten up your day and be that ray of sunshine you need!

Learn how to be a wise spender
You should also learn how to make your hard-earned money work for you. Save your sweldo for investment pieces, whether it be for your wardrobe, jewelry collection, or even for something as major as your own car or a condo unit.

Manage your finances better
Be wise with your cash. A debit card allows you to effectively monitor your money, helping you manage your finances better to become a more disciplined spender. You can use your BDO Debit Card for everyday purchases—it's linked to your account, so you'll have more control over your money. Simply present your BDO Debit Card at the cashier—tap, dip, or swipe, and you're fully paid. You can even use it to shop online*! What's more, you can score special offers and deals from BDO Debit Card partner establishments nationwide. Watch this video to learn more!
