A party is always a great way to cap off a year, and the Cosmo Christmas Mixer was the perfect send-off to the rollercoaster ride that was 2019. On December 11, CGs flocked to Versus Barcade in BGC for a fun, fearless celebration, because if there's one thing any Comso girl can do, it's knowing how to have a good time.
Guests were treated to hearty servings of finger foods. The open bar served cocktails, including the iconic pink Cosmopolitan, the staple of many Cosmo nights, and Versus Barcade's signature cocktail, Game Over.
One of our fave moments was when Cosmo.ph Editor in Chief Jillian Gatcheco gave a rousing opening speech, a toast to the digital magazine's highlights and accomplishments this year and to next year's exciting goals.
Likewise, we couldn't help but wonder how we can make the next year—the next decade—even better, so we asked some CGs in the mixer what their New Year's resolutions are. Here's what they said:
Fashion-turned-lifestyle blogger Kally Araneta is no stranger to straying from traditional endeavors and doing her own thing. Next year, she plans on doing something that’s close to her heart. “I really want to volunteer in dog shelters,” she shares. “I have a dog and a cat at home, so I want to do something for animals next year.”
Vlogger Teena Arches is more than just a beauty pro; she’s a staunch ambassador for body positivity. When asked how she plans to challenge herself in 2020, she said, “If you want change, then you have to do something different from your routine. I definitely want to do more content that’s outside of beauty.” She also says she's planning to work on projects about lifestyle, travel, and food, so we have that to look forward to.
Radio jock Rica Garcia is always “GGG” for anything, especially when it comes to improving different facets of her life. “I want to learn pole dancing,” Rica points out. “I’ve tried aerial hoop before, and it was really interesting. I discovered muscle groups that I never knew were there!” Rica says she also wants to learn Japanese, which will come in handy when she visits Japan next year.
