We're Talking To Each Other More These Days, But What's Missing From Our Conversations?

These are the discussions we need to be having to raise awareness.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine, we're all communicating with each other more frequently. Admit it, how many private group conversations and ongoing threads are you currently in as we speak?

But although we willingly discuss a wide range of topics with family and friends, there are still a few issues and concerns that we are reluctant to raise. How often do we shy away from the conversation when it turns to our bodies, mental health, relationships, professional success, or even feminine hygiene? These are the topics that directly concern us, and yet we barely reach out to other people to discuss these due to a lack of confidence. It's even more concerning once we realize that these are the conversations we need to be having with other women, if only to know more about how to take care of ourselves during these trying times.

That said, now is the time for us to take control of the conversation surrounding these ideas so we can empower one another and help Pinays everywhere find the road to self-love.

In this regard, Cosmo.ph, Modess, and Carefree are launching #MyPointOfV, a campaign that encourages women to get real about female success, body positivity, hygiene, beauty, relationships, and mental health.

If you're anywhere between 18 to 29 and are currently residing in the Philippines, we especially want to hear from you. Our panel of judges composed of Cosmo.ph editors and Modess and Carefree representatives will be selecting five women who will get the chance to be featured in a Cosmo-produced video, where they can share their points of view about being a woman. In addition, these fearless Pinays will also get the chance to win P5,000 worth of Johnson & Johnson consumer products.

To join, head to this site and fill out the online registration form. Pick one from the topics of success, body positivity, hygiene, beauty, relationships, and mental health; and submit your original opinion piece on your chosen topic. Be as bold as you want!

Submit your entry along with your photo starting April 27, 2020. Participants will be judged based on the following criteria: 50 percent for the composition and creativity of the opinion piece, 25 percent for brand fit (is it something that's likely to be featured on Cosmo.ph?), and 25 percent for originality and personality.

Allow your voice to be heard, CGs! To know more, visit the official microsite and follow Carefree and Modess on Facebook.
