Trends from the ‘90s seem to be taking the spotlight at the moment, what with street style, oversized outerwear, and retro accessories gracing the runways of New York and even the streets of Manila. Fashion and lifestyle blogger Camille Co-Koro gives us her take on her favorite trends, and how she makes them look wearable for this decade. The key, according to Camille, is “an accent piece that makes you feel fresh. It can be an accessory or a jacket or a pair of shoes. The sky is the limit!”

Camille styled these ~lewks~ with Skechers kicks, a ‘90s staple shoe. Each one represents different personalities, so anyone can try these styles. “All the looks are young, but each has a unique take on these trends.”

Color blocking in Street Cleats

“Make color blocking look retro with unmistakably ‘90s hues,” Camille explains. “I like trying different styles, but I always make sure I look put-together at the end of the day. Go all out in corduroy fabrics and tie the look together with a classic pair of sneakers.”

Biker chic in Soleil St.

Relive your neighborhood bike ride memories with the return of cycling shorts. Pairing the bottoms with these Skechers kicks will lengthen your legs, feel comfortable, and look fashionable. “I like wearing this look for casual walks around town, especially on hot days,” Camille adds, “but it’s the shoes that pop out in this ensemble, with their thick outsoles and the trippy arcs on the soles.”

Layered denim with Skechers Street

“There’s a charm in these pink-soled shoes, and when worn with denim on denim, they look even hipper. Loose jackets and comfy street sneakers make for a relaxed day outfit that transitions well for a night at a local pub,” Camille says. "Finish the look off with cat-eye specs and you've got yourself a rockstar look!"

Oversized and sporty in Street Cleats

Flip through the teen magazines of the past and you’ll see this carefree look a lot. “Narrow shades, a logo tee (preferably with stripes!), a multicolored windbreaker, and white socks serve ‘90s hip-hop, but it’s the kicks that defined the outfit,” she says. “I like these sneakers because they pair so well with white tube socks, and have that classic sneaker shape.”

‘90s Valley girl in Soleil St.

A head-to-toe ‘90s look starts with multiple barrettes and ends with white socks and a pair of Skechers. “Wear a loose shirt under a boxy blazer or a plaid jacket to channel your inner valley girl. The colors and the shape of these chunky shoes also balance the dressy combo with some fun and funky colors,” Camille points out.

Loose and layered in Skechers Street

“Pair a colorful oversized sweater with large overalls and you’ve got yourself a classic ‘90s outfit. The shoes look so street, and when styled with the jumpers, they look even better,” Camille advises. “Try them on with classic white pairs of Skechers Street.”

Bright and girly in Skechers Street

A fashion list wouldn't be complete without the stylist's personal take on how to wear Skechers kicks. Here, Camille dons a pretty headband, a bright orange dress, and her Skechers Street. The puffed sleeves give the look a vintage vibe, but the sneakers definitely tie the look together. As Camille says, "A girl can never have too many white sneakers, agree?"

“Don't be afraid to experiment, you're young,” Camille tells the millennials who are completely new to the trends. “Fashion should be fun so don't box yourself in. Surprise yourself!”
