Hello there! When you meet me, the first thing you'll notice is my *bright* blonde hair. But it might surprise you to know that my friends' personal experiences caused me to be scared of reaching for the bleach before, lol. The thing I heard the most was that it's very hard to maintain.
Thanks to the magnet-like influence of K-pop on me, however, I wasn't able to resist the temptation. TBH, I *badly* wanted to know what it felt like to have cotton candy-colored hair, so I chose TWICE's Dahyun's hair in the "Like Ooh-Ahh" music video as my peg (ICYDK, she had brown tresses with pink and orange streaks during that era!) When the brown, bright pink, and orange dyes faded, I chose to keep the blonde part and then grow my natural hair out for an ombré effect.

As for the maintenance of my blonde hair, my friends were right. A lot has been added to my usual routine, including keratin treatment, purple conditioner, and even a detangling brush, among many others. Maintaining bleached hair isn't child's play at all, but it's *not* impossible if you have the right products and tools.

Here are the blonde hair-friendly products I use that I swear by:
-
Love Beauty & Planet Smooth and Serene Argan Oil & Lavender Sulfate-Free Shampoo
Mild shampoos are a must for chemically-treated strands as they are effective in cleaning the hair without stripping it of moisture. This one from Love Beauty & Planet is sustainable, organic, and sulfate-free (a non-negotiable!) Since my long and thick tresses tend to become greasy, I use a handful each time I wash my hair (which is every other day).

HAIR TREATS Double Active Keratin Hair Spa
Another product that's become a staple in my hair care routine is a keratin treatment. I use a generous amount to make sure that every strand is coated. Since my hair is a level 10 blonde, I apply this in the shower every other day to ensure that my locks stay soft and healthy.

L'Oréal Serie Expert Silver Conditioner
If you've been reading about how to take care of bleached hair, I’m sure you’ve stumbled upon purple conditioner before. When I was new to the game, I didn’t think of it as a requirement. I only realized that I badly needed it when I noticed that my locks turned brassy over time and it didn't look good—at all!
I used to apply this twice a week, but the effect easily faded, so I just make sure to include it in my routine every time I felt like my tresses were looking a little brassy again.

Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo
I only use dry shampoo whenever wetting my hair isn't in my schedule for the day. It prevents my hair from being too greasy and it freshens it up, too. If you're looking for an affordable pick, the Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo is your best bet.

Tangle Angel CHERUB 2.0
I have experienced so much bristle-breaking in my life until I decided to use a detangling brush. Since it's pricier than the average combs, I had *really* think about it. But it turns out this was a wise and sulit buy. Aside from this being able to effortlessly go through my messy hair, it doesn’t hurt my scalp at all because I don't have to tug at it.
