Emilia Clarke’s hair game is literally always on point. And ever since she ditched her long locks for a fresh mid-length cut, we’ve been constantly impressed by how she styles her mane. Here, eight cute hairstyles for girls with awkward-length hair, according to the Mother of Dragons herself:
Pinned-back with soft waves
Begin by creating soft waves using a 1-inch curling iron. Then, part your hair in the center using a rat tail comb. Pin back pieces from either side and loosen it up for a more relaxed look. Effortlessly chic!
Straight and bouncy
For days when you just want to tame your mane, we recommend blow drying it. First, work in a volumizing mousse into damp hair. Then spritz on a heat protecting spray to minimize thermal damage. Finally, use a roller hair brush and curl the ends of your hair inwards to create body and volume. Center part optional!
This is possibly the chicest way to wear curls if you have mid-length hair! The secret? After curling hair using an iron, go back with a flat iron to straighten the ends. Run your fingers through your roots afterwards to give your locks a lift.
Who said you needed long hair to sport an updo? Take a cue from Emilia at the Me Before You premiere and pin sections of your hair up. Pull out some pieces in front to create faux fringes—that’s it!
For a relaxed look, switch your hair to your natural part. Skip the hot tools and just work in some mousse or texturizing spray to enhance your locks. Air dry for best results.
Instead of the usual slicked-back hairstyle we see on the red carpet, why not do a center part? Curling the ends of the hair outwards is a nice touch to it, too.
Half up, half down
Before pinning half of your hair on the back of your head, push it upwards to create some height and volume, just like how Emilia did it.
Old Hollywood glam
Doesn’t this hairstyle scream classic Hollywood bombshell?! The next time you attend an important event—like a wedding or a party—pin back your non-dominant side and do big curls on the rest of your hair for a romantic feel. A glam red lipstick completes this look.
