Yep, the new way to strobe—according to celebrity hair stylist Jamie Stevens—is by using a sponge to apply color directly to the hair.

Tasha Stevens, the Head Colorist from the Jamie Stevens salon in the UK where the professional color treatment is now available, explained the technique:


"The soft and round edges of the blender means that the applied color blends into the hair so you don't get random splodges of color."

But how will this new strobing trick frame our face or flatter our features?

"The application of contrasting tones, applied sporadically over the existing color, helps enhance the haircut which brings out the features in the face," Tasha adds.
