Let’s be real: 2019 was cray, and the fact that you made it out alive still amazes you. It’s no wonder CGs came out to party on December 11 at Versus Barcade in BGC for the Cosmo Christmas Mixer—a culminating event that partnered with Cream Silk to celebrate and toast to the fun, exciting, and humbling year it’s been, and to how amazing 2020 will be.

Many girls, plus-sized or otherwise, have Teena to thank when it comes to learning to love their bodies, no matter the shape. The vlogger, makeup artist, actress, and plus-size model encourages people to see beauty in all forms and to understand that it isn’t binary. At the Christmas Mixer, Teena donned a sequined dress suit and paired it with black sneakers, making her look more ready for the new year than anyone else. She also did her own glitter makeup and styled her hair into a wet look that gave her beachy waves, but come 2020, don’t expect any showstopping hair colors from the beauty vlogger. “I honestly want to do less damage to my hair,” Teena laughs, “I bleach, dye, color my hair multiple times a year, so I think 2020 will be the year when I take proper care of my tresses and let it relax.”
With a successful lifestyle blog up and running since 2012, Kally is the type who dives headfirst into new experiences—and shows how you can do it while dressing the part, too. For her mixer look, she wore a cream pin-striped midi dress and matched it with a pair of clear shoes for a classy OOTD. Who says you have to wear heavy makeup for nights out? Kally used BB cream as her base to show off her natural skin. Similar to Teena, Kally intends to lay off the dye jobs and grow out her natural hair as she enters into 2020. “I used to color my hair a lot, so I told myself that next year is the year I have to stop and avoid damage,” she explains. “Next year, I just want to grow it out long—finally.”
Working in radio has been Rica’s goal since college, and she made it happen by auditioning as a student radio jock and working her way to becoming a full-fledged personality during primetime. She enlisted a statement top and jeans ensemble for the Cosmo mixer to keep things cool and casual. Rica kept her makeup simple, but opted for a rosy lip to give her beauty look a focal point. She also decided on a bold hair change in time for 2020. “I got bangs for the very first time,” she says, “and I never thought they would actually fit me. People always said that my face was too small for them and that it wouldn’t look good. But when I decided to go for full bangs, it looked nice! I was surprised.” She doesn’t intend to stop there though, as she shares that she wants to try a pixie cut, too. “I might do it in increments, but I think that’s one bold move I can do next year.”
