3 Ways To Whiten Your Nails

Take note, polish addicts!

You’re probably reading this for two reasons: either you’ve left your polish on for too long or you just can’t let your nails rest in between manis. Regardless of your reason, heading out with yellow-tinged tips can leave you feeling a little self-conscious—especially if you’re used to having perfectly polished nails 24/7. Here are a few options that can help you fix this beauty dilemma:

Buff, buff, buff.

Grab a nail buffer block and get to work. Start buffing until you’ve sloughed the stains off and continue shining and polishing until your nails look healthy. Once done, swipe on a nail treatment or some argan oil to help strengthen your tips.

Try a DIY nail soak.

Mix half a lemon with a little bit of baking soda until it forms a paste. Then, use an old toothbrush and start scrubbing! You’ll have to this a few times deppending on how bad the stains are. Just make sure you don’t have any cuts around your fingers to avoid any stinging!

Use whitening toothpaste.

It’s the easiest technique! Place a pea-sized amount on an old toothbrush and run it over each nail for a few minutes. Rinse and repeat until the stains disappear. Tip: Ditch the colored gel formulas—they’re less effective.
