I Wore A Full Face Of Colourette Makeup For A Week And Here's What Happened

It was a week full of rediscovery.

As the Assistant Beauty Editor of Cosmopolitan Philippines, I get sent and try a ton of beauty products. This results in my kikay kit always being a combination of various brands, never from just one—in fact, I actually get excited/kilig when I use two or more products from the same brand, LOL. In my line of work, it's an achievement; trust me.

So when I was challenged to just use one brand for one week (seven Days!), specifically Colourette, I quickly said yes because I wanted to see what it would be like to be a ~*one brand gal*~. Keep reading!

Ed's Note: Since Colourette currently has no mascara in their collection, and during this period, their eyeliner and face powder were out of stock. I used products from different brands.

For the first day of this experiment, I just wanted to create a no-makeup look since I was only going to be in the office the whole day and was heading to the gym after work to get my new key. In other words, apart from my teammates and the trainers at the gym, not a lot of people would see me. So I went in with the brow pomade on my brows, the Poppy tint on my cheeks, and the Chrismatte lippie for my pout. I've already used a variant of the tint and Chrismatte lipstick before so the only "new" thing to me was the pomade. I was surprised it wasn't as pigmented on my brows as I thought it would be, especially since it's also the darkest shade in the line. I found I had to really pick up a lot of product just to draw a few hair-like strokes on one area of my eyebrow, which made me think that it's easy for someone to quickly finish it.

The look I created lasted the whole day, which surprised me because I barely applied the tint and lipstick! Overall, I like how Poppy stayed true-to-color and gave me a healthy appearance for an entire work day.

It's a work-from-home day, yay! Since I was only at home and stayed in my pajamas, I decided to add a *bit* of color to my face by using the multi-use Coloursnap on my cheeks and lips. ICYDK, these tiny tins of dewy pigment can be used as eyeshadow, too, to give your lids a pretty glossy effect.

With Coloursnap being more emollient, I had to reapply it a few times throughout the day, specifically on my lips because it transfers easily. But it doesn't matter because it gives the skin a really gorgeous, dewy finish!

Wednesday was a looooong day for me so I had to put my game face on—aka a full face of makeup! After applying my tinted moisturizer and concealer, I filled in my brows first because even if my bangs cover them, I still need them to look perfect just in case a gust of wind blows my fringe to the side or upwards and exposes them. Of course, I used Poppy on my cheeks because it effortlessly gives me that drunk blush look. I patted Kween on my lips and eyelids for a sheer color finish, and topped my whole look with a ton of highlighter (You can read all about my feelings on Shimmertint here!).

I really loved my look this day because it made me appear healthy and flushed—I'm having a blush phase, okay?

I had two events on Thursday, so it was yet another time I needed to have my game face on. I got a bit lazy to use a ton of products, so I kept to the basics: Brow Pomade, Coloursnap for both my lips and cheeks, Shimmertint on my cheekbones and nose, and Colourtint in Jordyn on my cheeks. My favorite part about this look is the tint/bronzer on my cheeks because it gave my complexion a warm glow!

I reapplied everything that had faded before going to an evening event and after eating a giant cookie and hamburger at said event, I noticed my makeup still looked perf. Good job, Colourette!

Once Friday came, after four straight days of wearing makeup, my skin took a turn for the worse. It suddenly felt dehydrated and had a rough texture. So instead of applying a lot of cheek and face makeup, I decided to just stick with brows and lips for the day. Good thing the two lasted all day and night, though, because Friday was h-e-c-t-i-c and really stressful. I was glad my face didn't show any signs of being tired.

I'm finally at the beach with my friends! Normally I don't wear any makeup whenever I'm at the beach because I like to let my sunburn shine on its own. But since I was determined to finish this experiment, I still brought and used Kween on the last two days. I applied a bit on my cheeks to help them emit a healthy look and was amazed how they didn't completely fade even after I swam for two hours! Huh, I guess saltwater and sand has got nothing on Coloursnap's pigment and formula.

BTW, don't mind my messy saltwater-infused mane. It was really tough to fix since it was so stiff.

After my second day of swimming during the morning and the afternoon, my skin was dry AF. To help get the radiance back, I gently tapped a bit of Kween on my cheeks. Since my complexion was so dehydrated, I couldn't smoothly swipe the product over my skin because it would emphasize the dry patches.  Anyway, I liked how my rosy cheeks complemented my messy, wavy hair! It gave it a nice summer vibe.

As it was already the last day, I realized that I actually like a lot of Colourette's products! Constant testing of various products made me forget these gems, which is why I'm glad I did this experiment because it made me remember/rediscover why they're worth a spot in my makeup bag!
