Lilly Singh is a YouTube star who makes two comedy videos a week. Her channel—IISuperwomanII—has over five million subscribers. The girl produces ridiculously funny skits for her viewers, but Lilly decided to do a short vid on why women shouldn't apologize for not wearing makeup.
In the video, Lilly shared that she had two meetings with friends. She texted them saying she didn't have time to put on her face. "Hey! Just a heads up, I look like a mess. Sorry, don't judge me."
And then it hit her: "I actually apologized to people for looking like a 'mess' and not wearing makeup. And then I was like, 'Girl, did I really just apologize for not wearing makeup?' And then I yelled at myself because I thought, 'Since when do I have to apologize for looking like myself? And since when is looking like myself considered a mess?'"
The video, which was uploaded a week ago, has over 800,000 views. And the response has been overwhelming. One YouTube commenter said, "Thank you Lilly. As someone who never wears make up and sometimes feels really ugly when looking at all the other girls who look beautiful wearing it, I appreciate this video. <3"
