There's no denying, we all love our Kylie Lip Kits. Every time the youngest Jenner sister restocks her line, the internet goes into a mini meltdown, with eager beauty-lovers desperate to get their hands on her pout-approved formula.

However, one beauty blogger has just revealed a surprising truth about the reality star's cosmetics, and it may make you think twice before splurging on a kit.

Stephanie nicole (@sf_stef) took to Instagram and Youtube to point out the striking difference between the original Candy K Lip Kit and the reformulated version.

When comparing the new formula to the original, Stefanie explained why she preferred the first version: "I feel like the formula is much thinner... The first formula is mousse-y and creamy, and the second one is significantly more watery." She then showed a swatch of the colors from both versions, and it's clear to see there's a noticeable color difference. While the original version is more nude, the newer formulation is much more pink. Eeeep.

It wasn't just the shade disparity that Stefanie revealed. After looking into the formula of the lip kit she also discovered something pretty surprising.

The ingredients listed are shockingly similar to those in a cheaper liquid lipstick by the brand ColourPop.

"The ingredients from this Candy K and the ColourPop Clueless Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick are identical," says Stephanie. "The ColourPop one does have a few other ingredients in there, which are filler products, but every single thing that's in these Kylie Jenner lipsticks are in the ColourPop ones."

Stefanie explains her theory as to why the ColourPop versions are so much cheaper, and she believes the reason for this is that the manufacturing company makes both versions, but has to pay Kylie to use her name on the formula.

"The company has to pay Kylie Jenner because her name is on it. The extra money is not going for product development or better ingredients," says Stephanie. "All she is doing is basically lending her name out to a brand that knows that no matter what it is, people will wait in line for this. So when they saw the huge response, they cut some corners, and took a good formula and made it cheap."

This isn't the first time we've seen Kylie called out over the quality of her cosmetics. Her lip glosses were widely criticized due to faulty brushes. But the reality star has taken to social media in the past to explain that, as she is new to the beauty industry, she will continue to reformulate her cosmetics line in order to iron out issues raised by consumers.

So, has Stefanie's discovery made you think twice about waiting up at night to get your hands on Kylie's liquid lipstick? Or are you still a die-hard Lip Kit lover? The verdict is out.
