I'll be honest. I've been experimetning with makeup since I was three (I have photographic evidence of this, I kid you not!), but you can only count in one hand the number of times I've used a lip liner. I know of its benefits, but I guess I was just too lazy to take them out of my makeup kit.
I am a fan of liquid lipsticks, so I never had a problem of retouching or the color bleeding. But lately, I've been using satin and creamy lippies, which sometimes fade after eating a grilled cheese sandwich. Lip liners are known for making a painted pout last, so it may be time to give them a chance. Also, let me just mention that it took watching Heart Evangelista makeup videos and writing a gazillion times about her beauty routines to convince myself that I MAY NEED one.

A lip liner brings out your lipstick's bright pigments.
I find my mouth too small for my plump cheeks, so I now make it a point to carefully overdraw my pout's outline, especially when I use a bright lipstick. I also discovered that using a neon lip liner makes my colored pout stand out even more!
