Matte lipsticks are the best because they're long-wearing, but unfortunately, they dehydrate our puckers faster than you can say El Niño.
To prevent this from happening, try these tips below:
1. Remove dry skin
Using a damp washcloth or lip scrub, slough away flaky skin to create a smooth canvas.
2. Slather on moisture
Apply lip balm and top it off with a teeny bit of eye cream to get your pout hydrated AF. Leave it on for at least two minutes, and blot off excess moisture with a tissue.

3. Prime thy lips
Wield a lip primer or a liner to act as a base for your lip color. This helps the hue stay on longer.

4. Go easy on the application
Whether you're using a liquid or bullet version of your matte lippie, it's best to apply it in thin layers. A super thick one will just crack and flake off.

5. Correct
Of course, not everyone is born with precise hands, so remove the uneven application with a concealer or a cotton bud dipped in micellar water.
