What is the Beauty Pop by Penshoppe lipstick?
Beauty Pop by Penshoppe boasts two matte lipstick formulas: LiteMattes and HydraMattes. The LiteMatte lipsticks have a long-wearing, featherweight formula with a powder-like finish. They contain blurring properties to make your puckers look smooth and supple. On the other hand, the HydraMatte lipsticks contain vitamin E to ensure a moisturizing, velvety matte application.

How do the lipsticks feel on the lips?
Both lines have a matte but not drying texture. True to their names, the LiteMattes do feel like nothing on the lips and the HydraMattes do feel a *tiny* bit more moisturizing. Both formulas don't dehydrate our puckers, even after hours of wearing them.
Do the lipsticks have a scent?
The Beauty Pop by Penshoppe products have a scent that's pretty common among drugstore lipsticks: clay-meets-vanilla. It's not an overwhelming fragrance—you'll forget about it seconds after application.

Lipstick preference: I don't really have a preference when it comes to lipstick formulas. I pay more attention to colors, and I always lean towards toasted nudes and bright pinks.
Favorite shade/s: LiteMatte in All Dolled Up, Hydramatte in Day Dream and Naughty & Nice
First impressions: The packaging definitely caught my eye! I imagined all the #shelfies I could take with the Beauty Pop lipsticks on display. As for the colors, both LiteMatte and HydraMatte featured shades that will suit different personalities and skin tones.
I immediately reached for the LiteMatte lipstick in All Dolled Up and I think it was because it closely resembled some of the terracotta nude lipsticks I already owned. Since my first swipe, this shade has been my go-to for every day.
The HydraMatte lipstick in Day Dream, on the other hand, is the ideal pink-based MLBB shade. (The color is similar to what K-drama actresses wear!) I love how it instantly brightened my complexion.
The HydraMatte lipstick in Naughty & Nice may look like intimidating because of its bright Barbie Pink hue, but it actually leaves a lovely warm-toned carnation pink hue on the lips. It's not *that* shocking so I believe you can wear it in school or at the office.
Overall experience: I'm not going to lie: It took me multiple swipes of the HydraMatte lippies before I got an opaque finish. But, I'll let this pass because the shades are flattering and the price point is ultra affordable. I believe I'll be wearing LiteMatte lippies more because they're more pigmented compared to HydraMatte lipsticks.

Lipstick preference: I prefer bullet or crayon lipsticks with a satin or glossy finish. When it comes to matte lippies, I have high standards because there are already so many out in the market. When it comes to shades, I like rose or nude hues because they're low-maintenance—I don't have to worry about touching up since these fade beautifully, unlike deep or dark colors that don't look so cute after a few sips of coffee.
Favorite shade/s: HydraMatte lipstick in Girl Next Door and LiteMatte lipstick in Prim & Proper
First impressions: Cute! The HydraMattes and LiteMattes look like they were ~made~ for a teenager in mind. Upon applying it on my lips, though, I noticed it tugging on my pout and this turned me off a bit. I had to reapply the product at least four times to get the pigmentation I wanted. Once I was finished, though, the first thing that popped into my head was that the sheer look of the lipstick reminded me of Glossier's Generation G lipsticks. The LiteMattes and HydraMattes gave my puckers a pretty, ~*blotted lip*~ look and I really liked it.
Another pro, both the LiteMattes and HydraMattes barely transfer whenever I eat or drink, yay!
Overall experience: While I was slightly disappointed that the shades I tried weren't super pigmented, I'm actually excited to use the Beauty Pop by Penshoppe lipsticks whenever I do a no-makeup makeup day. The shades I tried gave my MOTD an effortless vibe and wonderfully tied everything together.

If you're just getting into makeup, these lipsticks should be the first one on your shopping list. It only costs P219 a piece, and you will surely find your everyday and experimental shades in their line. Maybe you and your barkada can even buy all the Beauty Pop lipsticks together—fun!
