Should You *Really* Contour Your Face?

Is creating a slimmer face worth it?

Say the word “contouring” and images of sculpting creams and powders to achieve carved cheekbones and chiseled jawlines immediately come to mind. (Thanks, Kim K!)

As fascinating as contouring may be, not everyone is into it.

Bobbi Brown, makeup artist and the woman behind the beauty brand, is among the huge names in beauty that aren’t fans of Kim K's signature look.

“As a beauty expert, I believe in individual beauty, and it’s just not my aesthetic. We don’t need to be contouring like the Kardashians. The contouring trend is so wrong because it tells women there’s something wrong with their face. There’s beauty in a full face, so I don’t like to paint in a cheekbone that doesn’t exist,” she said in an interview with the New York Post.

Bobbi prefers adding a bright-colored blush on the apples of the cheeks to bring out one’s features more. You can also brighten your face by adding highlighter on top of your cheekbones, which will draw in more light to your face. The combination of a blush and highlighter is a softer and forgiving way to sculpt your face rather than contouring. The best part? You can’t mess it up and end up with an uneven face shape! #RoundFacedGirlsForever

So don't feel the need to give in to the trend because everyone is doing it! Embrace your face no matter what shape it is!
