We don’t mean to alarm you, but Kim Kardashian's makeup line, SKKN by Kim Makeup, is finally here. That's correct, Kim has channelled her iconic smokey eye and nude lip into a new collection—and the products are everything we could have hoped for and more.

On Tuesday, January 16, Kim announced this in an Instagram reel, saying: "Alright guys, so I have been reading the comments on the SKKN account, and so many of you want us to bring colour cosmetics back." So, giving exactly what the fans have asked for, Kim has created SKKN by Kim Makeup. The best soft launch of 2024? We think so.

Everything You Need To Know About SKNN by Kim Makeup

"In developing SKKN by Kim Makeup, my goal was not only to create universally-flattering cosmetic essentials but also to ensure our products are clean, hydrating, and improve the look and feel of skin with every year," Kim said in a recent Instagram post.

Staying true to her characteristically minimalist style, the collection features three products; there's the Classic Matte Eyeshadow Palette as well as 15 shades of the Lip Liner and 10 shades of the Soft Matte Lip Color. Yes, it’s a small start, but it means there’s room for more, right?

The new line screams Kardashian at first glance. The packaging is structured, minimalist, but undeniably chic—which is no surprise considering Kim is a lover of all things 'greige.' But packaging aside, it's the detail that has gone into the formulation that has impressed us the most. As Kim describes it: "It’s where skin-loving formulas meet high-performance glam."

Our love letter to SKKN by Kim Makeup starts here, with the Classic Matte Eyeshadow Palette. It houses 12 warm and cool neutral shades, designed to define and sculpt the eyes. NGL, the palette gives us Makeup by Mario Master Mattes energy—but, seeing as Mario Dedivanovic is Kim’s MUA, it makes sense if she's taken inspo from his iconic beauty looks.

Each shade is as wearable as the next, and can be used to take a daytime look into a sultry eye. You can play about with a small selection of hues to create a simple look or experiment with the darker tones to add depth. With such buttery pigments, just a tap of a fluffy brush is all that’s needed to glide the shadow over the lid.

And because the spectrum of shades can work with all skin tones, trust us when we say there won’t be a rogue shade left untouched in the corner of the palette. It’s the sort of makeup bag must-have that everyone could do with.

Onto the lip products. Lips are an integral part of the Kardashian-Jenner empire—and no, we’re not just talking about Kylie. Kim also launched a lipstick and lipliner with her previous brand KKW Beauty, so it’s only right that she comes back for a series two.

The Lip Liner is available in 15 shades, so you can find the perfect hue to suit your skin tone. You've got the mauve pinks for a softer look, or there's a selection of deep browns to create definition. And if you like to enhance the shape or size of your natural lips, the buttery texture of the liners allows you to overline to deliver a temporarily fuller look.

According to the brand, it promises to be a "long-wear, easily blendable matte lip pencil that defines and enhances the shape of the lips for a sculpted pout." The liner also comes with some pretty impressive customer stats, with 100% of people saying it doesn’t bleed, smudge or dry out the lips.

Soft Matte Lip Color

As for the Soft Matte Lip Colors, the selection of shades complements the liners so that you can build a sculpted and plumped pout. They’re billed as a "full-coverage soft matte lipstick that effortlessly melts into the lips, delivering velvety smooth, full-impact pigment and a blurred airbrushed finish."

Keeping to SKKN's 'skin first' mantra, the lipsticks are designed to feel hella moisturising and will ensure your lips stay plump, and maybe even irresistible, from dusk till dawn.

Thanks to ingredients like jojoba oil, avocado oil, and shea butter, 90% of customers said the formula is comfortable to wear, while 100% said it’s smooth on the lips and doesn’t flake throughout the day. That's right, the Soft Matte Lip Colors aren't like the matte formulas of old; they're creamy and pigmented lippies that will define and moisturise without flaking.

We also *massively* appreciate that the lineup isn't too spenny. Compared to other products in the market, the price points of the eyeshadow palette and lip offerings pretty much stack up. But who can blame us for thinking they would be a little dicey—we haven’t forgotten the Kylie Cosmetics Brush Set fiasco of 2017.

The age of the celeb beauty brand is massive RN, with everyone from Rihanna to Scarlett Johansson jumping onto the bandwagon. But even though the world may be obsessed by Kim's best-selling business (hi SKIMS, we're looking at you), it's fair to say that she's dominating the beauty space one lipstick at a time, too.

Yes, we are still mourning the loss of KKW Beauty (along with her beloved contour stick), but because she is the queen of 'getting her ass up and working,' we’re thrilled that we can now grace our perfectly curated makeup tables with SKKN by Kim Makeup.

Not really—we aren’t Kim—but the products will be lovingly placed into our dusty makeup bags like every normal person. And we can’t wait.
