How do you pluck your brows? Do you do it in a well-lit room with your mirror and tweezers on hand like everybody else?
Apparently, you're doing it the wrong way.
In an interview with Refinery29, Sania Vucetaj, owner of acclaimed Sania’s Brow Bar in New York, revealed that you should pluck your brows in dull light. Say what?!
“The more lighting you have, the more chances you have to tweeze too much and get obsessive,” she explained. She shared that a lot of her clients that live in the suburbs tend to have thin and sparse brows because they regularly pluck their brows in well-lit rooms.
While it sounds a little crazy, it does make sense. The better the lighting, the more “stray” hairs you spot, so you end up wanting to get rid of more hair.
The lesson here is to practice self-control when maintaining your arches. Because sparse brows are never cute, TBH.
