I have oily, acne-prone skin, so I'm constantly on the hunt for my next holy grail product that can give me the clearest and most glowing skin of my ~life~! I have tried a lot of products. Some made my skin flare up, and some have earned a permanent spot in my bathroom counter. Over the years, I have slowly transitioned to more *~natural~* products for treating my skin. So far, my complexion has benefitted from this decision.
If you want to try the natural route, too, here's a list of ingredients and products to try:
Tea tree oil
If you've gone through a lot of anti-acne products, you would know that tea tree oil is a primary ingredient in most of them. Its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties make it an excellent choice for those with acne-prone skin. An application of a 5 percent concentration of tea tree oil has been proven to reduce the number of papules and pustules—both types of pimples that people with acne usually get. *Pure* tea tree oil can be too harsh for sensitive skin, so it's best to dilute it with water or a carrier oil.
Try: The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil
This is one of The Body Shop's bestselling products for a reason. Dab this bad boy on your ripe pimples using a cotton bud before going to bed. You'll find that they have dried and shrunk in size overnight.

So you've finally gotten rid of those pesky pimples—yay! Unfortunately, you're left with stubborn acne marks that won't seem to go away no matter what. This is where sunflower oil comes to play. It has vitamins A, C, D, and E packed into it, as well as fatty acids that act as antioxidants that help in regenerating new skin cells. You're going to get brighter, glowing skin with regular use!
Try: Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil
Human Nature's bestselling Sunflower Beauty Oil has a whopping 25 uses that aren't just limited to your face—you can use this oil for your body, too! As for how it fares against acne, it helps in evening out the skin tone and diminishing the appearance of dark marks. It also relieves the dry patches on the face that can be caused by spot treatments.

The market is already oversaturated with aloe vera-infused products such as gels, lotions, creams, and even shampoos and conditioners. However, they are mixed with chemicals and preservatives in order to make their shelf life last longer, so they're not exactly ~natural and pure~. If you still want your aloe vera fix, why not use an *~actual~* aloe vera plant? Just cut up a plant and get the goop out, then apply it liberally on the affected area. Use it as an overnight mask and wash it off in the morning in order to reduce redness and calm irritated skin.Continue reading below ↓
Clay has been used throughout history to heal wounds, cleanse the skin, and lessen inflammation. Cleopatra, the ~original~ beauty junkie herself, was known to apply a clay mask to achieve her enviable skin.
It draws out impurities and excess oil from the skin, and it's suitable for all skin types! The only thing that varies is the time you leave the mask on your face. For sensitive skin, 10 minutes is enough, and for normal and oily skin, 15-20 minutes is recommended.
Try: Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask
Remember when this tub literally had everyone and their mother line up outside of Healthy Options? Good times, good times. The ~initial hype~ might have died down, but its healing powers haven't! This works like a vacuum in sucking out the gunk from your face and leave you with super clean skin. I use this on days when I feel like my skin needs extra TLC. It also works great as a spot treatment when mixed with apple cider vinegar. Just apply some paste on the affected areas and wash it off after 15 minutes.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar, or fermented apple cider, has been gaining popularity as a treatment for acne. It also helps with the skin discoloration and scarring that usually occurs after a pimple has healed. (Tip: Find one that has "The Mother" in it because it is essentially the ~good bacteria~ added to the fermented apple cider, which makes it extra effective.)
Try: Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with The Mother
This one is best paired with the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask. Acne won't stand a chance against this powerful combination!

Another mainstay ingredient in anti-acne products, witch hazel, tightens the pores, makes the skin firmer, and controls the sebum production. Remember: Less oil = less acne.
Try: Mario Badescu Witch Hazel & Rosewater Toner
Witch hazel and rose water both have natural astringent properties that treat acne. It's also infused with aloe vera to combat the potential dryness of the witch hazel.
