Our evening skincare routines have evolved!

There will never be ~*one*~ skincare routine that will suit everyone because honestly, it takes a lot of trial and error to find the products that will perfectly work for you. And since your skin will evolve (i.e. age, hormones, etc.), so too will your regimen—there will be instances when the bottles you have turned to for the past year might no longer be your mainstays, and you have to find new ones that will perform better.

Two years ago, we shared our P.M. skincare routines, and we shocked ourselves with the total amount we were willing to spend in the name of clear skin. Today, we were surprised to see how much our choices and skincare needs have evolved.

Scroll down to find out our ride-or-die skincare products!

Age: Early 20s

Skin type: Sensitive, combination

Products: Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for Oily, Acne-Prone Skin, P249; Pond's Acne Clear Pore Conditioning Toner, P85.85; Olay Regenerist Whip, P1,999; Hello Gorgeous Detox Facial Mask, P300

Why it works: I'm pretty new to skincare! My routine's pretty basic (and quick). I start by cleansing my face with Garnier Micellar Water, and I love how it leaves my skin feeling hydrated. Next, I use a toner to *refresh* my skin and to remove excess dirt and oil! I've been using Pond's Acne Clear Conditioning Toner since college, and I like it because it doesn't irritate my sensitive/combination skin. Then, I apply moisturizer. I've been using the Olay Regenerist Whip Face Moisturizer recently and so far, it's pretty great! It hydrates my face without leaving an icky, sticky feeling. When I have time, I also use a face mask. The Hello Gorgeous Detox Facial Mask leaves me with a bright, clean, matte complexion!

Products: NIVEA MicellAIR Skin Breathe Extra White 0% Alcohol Micellar Water, P169; Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub, $8.99/P473.50; Muji Booster, P795; Innisfree Green Tea Seed Skin Toner, price available upon request; Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex Serum II, P6,000; Vaseline 100% Pure Petroleum Jelly (49g), P59.60

Why it works: Out of all the products that I use for my p.m. skincare routine, the Aveeno face scrub is my favorite. It's been a constant for almost two years now! I love how it makes my skin feel soft, smooth, and fresh after a long day. To be honest, it even gives my face a certain glow when I wake up. The Advanced Night Repair is also a top pick because it feels light on the skin and it hydrates well. I just need a few drops on my fingertips and I'm good for the night.

Age: Mid-20s

Skin type: Dry, sensitive

Products: Innisfree Green Tea Morning Cleanser, price available upon request; Muji Light Toning Water, P545; Your Private Formula Skin Need 100% Hyaluronic Acid, P6,000; Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate, P2,950; Innisfree Green Tea Seed Eye & Face Ball, price available upon request; Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, P1,899; Smith's Rosebud Salve, P490

Why it works: Since I began working at Cosmo, I've learned the importance of investing in skincare. My biggest issues are dryness and making sure that products don't react with my sensitive skin. I'm a huge fan of both the Olay Regenerist Cream and Smith's Rosebud salve—I've been using both products for years! The cream is the last step in my routine because I feel like it really seals in the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I also never forget lip balm (I hate the feeling of chapped lips!), and I love how the salve doesn't smell ~too~ much like roses (I don't know how many pots I've gone through over the years, but the product lasts a ~long~ time!). The Innisfree and Your Private Formula products are new finds, and they've been working well so far—the cleanser doesn't dry out my face, and the hyaluronic acid leaves my skin feeling plump and fresh in the mornings. I like keeping the roller ball in the fridge because then it's really cold when you apply the product—super soothing especially during summer!

Skin type: Dry

Products: Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser, P223; Pixi Glow Tonic, P390/15ml; Olay White Radiance Light Perfecting Essence, P1,299

Why it works: I still have a lot of experimenting to do when it comes to my skincare routine but right now, I follow a simple Facial wash + Toner + Essence routine. I use Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser to remove dirt and makeup. After that, I use Pixi Glow Tonic. It removes the leftover makeup that my facial wash wasn't able to, cleaning my face further. After the toner, I put on Olay White Radiance Light Perfecting Essence as finishing touch. It makes my skin soft after it has absorbed the product. This routine makes my face feel like the butt cheeks of a baby that I absolutely love when I wake up! Haha.

Age: Early 20s

Skin type: Dry, combination

Products: Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil, P2,200; Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, P744; Maxi-Peel Zero Micro Exfoliant Fluid, P75; Goodal Green Tangerine Moist Serum, P970; Missha Near Skin Total Ceramide Cream, P1,300; Neal’s Yard Remedies Frankincense Intense Lift Eye Cream, P3,250; Banila Co. Dear Hydration Facial Mist, P525

Why it works: I double cleanse at night because I wear makeup during the day. The products I use after are pretty basic: chemical exfoliator, serum, moisturizer, eye cream, and face mist. The two products I can't live without are the Maxi-Peel Micro Exfoliant Fluid and the Missha Ceramide Cream. For the former, it's because it's the only thing that prevents pimples from popping up on my chin, while the latter is the only moisturizer I've found that keeps my skin hydrated all day and night without having to slather on a sleeping mask. But when my skin is feeling drier than usual, I finish my regimen with a face mist to seal everything in.

Age: Late 20s

Skin type: Oily, acne-prone

Products: Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser, P223; Simple Micellar Cleansing Water, P499; 23.5 N Oriental Beauty Tea Balancing Toner, P1,095; Tony Moly Eye-Face Cream, P1,698; Algenist Multi-Perfecting Pore Corrector Concentrate, P3,350; COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, P950; Human Nature Radiant Grace Night Cream, P995

Why it works: After I shampoo and condition my hair in the shower, I wash my face with the Neutrogena cleanser. Once my skin is dry, I wipe my face with the Simple micellar water. I know I probably don't have to do this because I just got out of the shower, but it makes me feel extra clean before I start my p.m. skincare routine. I've tried plenty of toners in the past, and the 23.5 N product is the kindest to my skin. It doesn't feel like it's burning my epidermis. Next, I apply eye cream; tbh, Tony Moly is the first brand I've ever tried for eye cream and it didn't have any detrimental effect on my skin, so I never replaced it. Then, I use the SMALLEST amount of Algenist possible to cover such a huge surface area (my face), because a bitch is broke. When I don't forget, I use COSRX after that (heard good things, decided to try, didn't break my skin out). I top it all off with Human Nature's night cream. I like this because it feels light and I don't have to wait forever to go to bed.

Age: Late 20s

Skin type: Dry, sensitive

Products: Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Petals, P1,150; Celeteque DermoScience Gentle Exfoliating Facial Wash, P140; Avene Hydrating Serum, P2,040; Muji Sensitive Skin Moisturizing Creme, P595; Nuxe Youth Revealing And Perfecting Anti-Aging Total Eye Contour, P2,450

Why it works: Let’s say I’ve come home at night wearing a full face of makeup all day. I start by removing my makeup with the Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water With Rose Petals using a cotton pad. I usually use up at least two pads for this. I was a bit wary of using this product at first because of its scent (it’s VERY FLORAL), but it didn’t irritate my skin and it’s really good for removing makeup! Next, I wash my face with water and lather on the Celeteque DermoScience Gentle Exfoliating Facial Wash all over my face and neck. I then wash it off. I only use this facial wash three to four times a week since my skin is very dry and irritable. If I feel my face needs more cleaning, I use the Neutrogena Deep Clean Brightening Foaming Cleanser also on my face and neck.

After towel drying my face, it’s time for the good stuff! My skin is super sensitive, that’s why I use products that I know my skin won’t react to, and that means I need to veer away from heavily scented products. The Avene Hydrating Serum is my favorite serum ever as it leaves my skin so plump, refreshed, and hydrated! Afterward, I top it off with the Muji Sensitive Skin Moisturising Cream all over my face and neck. It’s unscented and its packaging is nondescript and simple so you’d think you’re not getting your money’s worth–but you do! I’ve had zero problems with this product because it super moisturizes my face even in cold countries (I can attest to this! LOL). Finally, I use the Nuxe Youth Revealing And Perfecting Anti-Aging Total Eye Contour in my eye area. This product has a slight tint to it so it’s perfect for daytime use, but I also opt to use it at night because it’s such a great product, especially its super cool applicator!

Age: Early 30s

Skin type: Oily

Products: DHC Cleansing Oil, P750; Innisfree Green Tea Seed Gel-to-Foam, price available upon request; Hada Labo Gokyujun Clear Lotion, P745; Dear Klairs Supple Lotion, P1,150; Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Activating Drop, P1,570; Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex, P4,280; Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream, P3,236; Make P:rem Peel Me. Radiance Peeling Sleeping Pack, P1,940; La Mer Lip Balm, P3,650

Why it works: I've had acne-prone skin since I was a teenager, so I'm quite paranoid with leaving behind any debris or product in my pores. I always ask friends who visit Japan to get a bottle of DHC Cleansing Oil for me, because it does a great job melting makeup and sebum buildup on my face. I'm not particular with my daily foam cleanser because I use a glycolic acid facial wash (not pictured) at least once a week for deep-cleaning.

I've battled blackheads, whiteheads, and acne my whole life. These skin concerns introduced me to exfoliating acids. Prior to this batch of products (I rotate a group of skincare products every three to four months to "shock" my skin), my routine was majorly composed of glycolic acid (a form of AHA) toners, concentrates, and creams. I decided it was time to switch things up. but I still use glycolic acid pads once a week. I substituted the AHA items with a PHA sleeping mask. ICYDK, PHA is the milder sister of AHA.

I'm in my early 30s, so most of the items I use provide light hydration because I'm concerned with the tiny wrinkles that are slowly showing on my face. I specifically chose products that won't clog my pores but still restore moisture levels. I also invested in a potent eye cream and lip balm to guarantee youthful eyes and plump lips.

Age: Mid-20s

Skin type: Normal

Products: Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil, P2,200; Pixi Glow Tonic, P1,950; Thayers Facial Toner Witch Hazel Aloe Vera Formula in Lavender, P645; Shiseido Vital Perfection White Circulator Serum, price available upon request; Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex, P4,280; Olay White Radiance Whip, P1,999; Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Serum, P2,950

Why it works: My nighttime skincare routine typically starts with taking off my makeup for the day. I always double cleanse. I start with an oil-based remover, and right now, I'm obsessed with the Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil because it's so gentle on the skin (especially the eye area, which is important because I only wear waterproof mascara) and has a nice relaxing scent. My foaming facial wash is still the Origins Checks and Balances Foaming Facial Wash (I forgot to bring it for the shoot!) I've been using this for many years and I've no complaints about it. I alternate between the Pixi Glow Tonic and Thayers Facial Toner after cleansing to get rid of the excess dirt and makeup that's left on the skin. The Pixi Glow Tonic changed my skin for the better—it keeps my skin smooth and blemish-free. I switch serums quite often, but right now I'm into the Shiseido Vital Perfection White Circulator Serum. It's pricey, but this really made my skin brighter and healthier. I moisturize heavily at night, and the Olay White Radiance Whip is great because it's not greasy or heavy at all. After patting on my eye cream, I finish my routine by patting on the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Serum as my last step. I haven't stopped using this product since I discovered it around four years ago—it's life-changing!

This skincare routine is definitely less than what I used to do when I was a little younger. I guess I was more excited to try everything. But what I realized is that you just have to stick to what works. The simpler your routine, the better.

Age: Early 30s

Skin type: Combination

Products: Simple Dual Effect Eye Make Up Remover, P199.50; Koh Gen Do Cleansing Water, P1,995; Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser, P990; Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3, P1,600; Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex Serum II, P6,000; Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, P1,900; Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream P1,005; Avene Cold Cream Lip Balm, P515; Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate, P2,950

Why it works: The first few steps of my p.m. skincare routine focus on double cleansing and making sure that I have zero makeup residue. I follow it up with exfoliating products (facial wash, clarifying lotion) to remove dead skin cells and leftover dirt and sebum, so my skin can absorb the potent ingredients of the next items I'll be applying: serum, eye cream, moisturizer, and facial oil. I finish off everything with a lip balm that I apply generously.
