Yet another beauty trend we can thank Kylie Jenner for are coffin nails, which are shaped long and sharp (like actual coffins). Morbidly beautiful? Perhaps.
Although they've been around for a while, Pinterest is predicting that these nails will be one of the biggest beauty trends in 2016. While everyday nail art has been slowly dying, matte finishes on nude and dark polishes are the modern way to keep coffin nails looking chic. Here are some of our faves:2. Superfood skincare for nails
Last year saw the rise of skincare for nails, with brands like Ciate launching a toner, serum and overnight mask for nails—and this year the skincare comes supercharged with superfoods.
Sally Hansen has a new Complete Care 7-in-1 Nail Treatment—which has avocado oil and pomegranate extract—for damaged nails. Nails Inc also launched a regenerative Overnight Detox Max with green tea, acai, and spiriluna; and a Nail Grow treatment with matcha green tea!
We're also going to be seeing a lot of makeup for nails. Orly got in on the act early with its BB Crème, but Butter London is coming up with Nail Tinted Moisturizers. These polishes are packed with vitamin E to lock in moisture and deliver a hint of tint to complement your skin tone.3. Off-the-nail embellishment
If natural isn't your thing, then this trend will be. Nails Magazine predict that accessories that go off the nail (using the free edge and nail bed as starting points) is the new way to nail nail art.
Nails as accessories in their own right, with dangling jewels, chains and serious 3D texture were seen on the catwalks as the ultimate antidote to nude talons. Practical? No.
