Following the drama that went down with The Ordinary, its parent company Deciem, and founder and CEO Brandon Truaxe on October 9, it's been quite a month for the beloved skincare brand.
Even though it's already expected to resume regular operations (Truaxe was recently removed as CEO and a board member of the company), I'm not going to lie, all the behind-the-scenes drama and instability made me realize that what if something similar happens again and they "temporarily" shut down operations? If you, like me, are already thinking about how you'll get their products if they're out of stock (or out of business), why not try these alternatives? Scroll below!
The Ordinary "Buffet"
A serum that targets multiple skin conditions at once such as dryness, fine lines, and clogged pores.
Alternative: Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop
Just like Buffet, this serum repairs, hydrates, and clarifies skin. Plus its blue hue is so prettyyyy!
Where To Buy: Beauty Bar
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
A cold-pressed and organic oil that is rich in good-for-your-skin acids, which leave your complexion looking supple and nourished.
Alternative: Human Nature Pure Rosehip Oil
Aside from the slightly different spelling of rosehip, Human Nature’s version is also cold-pressed, rich in fatty acids, and can be used for both the face and body!
Where To Buy: Robinsons Supermarket
The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
A lightweight eye serum that targets and reduces the look of dark circles and eye bags.
Alternative: The Happy Organics Caffeine Eye Serum
Just like Caffeine Solution, the star ingredient of this eye product is also caffeine! But wait, there's more: It's also infused with sweet almond oil, vitamin E, and grapefruit essential oil to hydrate and heal the delicate skin on your eye area.

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%
Lactic Acid is a form of alpha hydroxy acid which works to refine and gently exfoliate your complexion.
Alternative: COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Liquid
Even if this version only has 7 percent (The Ordinary's has 10 percent), it's still just as great at removing dead skin, unclogging pores, and leaving your skin brighter and clearer!
Where To Buy: Watsons
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors
A lightweight cream formulated with ceramides, amino acids, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and more to protect the skin, balance it out, and hydrate it without making the surface look and feel slick.
Alternative: Bioderma Sensibio Light Cream
A sensitive skin-friendly cream that soothes and hydrates skin, and can even double-up as a priming moisturizer!
Where To Buy: SM Beauty
The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone
A serum + skin perfector that has a slight stinging sensation when first applied. It brightens dark marks, tightens pores, and smooths skin texture! PSA: When used in the a.m., you must use sunscreen to prevent the product from oxidizing and irritating your complexion.
Alternative: The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost
This vitamin C serum also evens out your complexion, reduces the appearance of pores, and gives your skin a healthy glow! Unlike Vitamin C Suspension, though, there's no stinging sensation here!
