We’re never not crushing on Selena Gomez, and our infatuation with her definitely goes beyond appearances. We just think the 24-year-old singer is one of the most grounded celebrities ever—she’s never afraid to ‘fess up about her flaws or show her vulnerability.

In an interview with, Selena got candid about beauty and health concerns every woman in her twenties experiences. Here are a few things we’ve picked up from her:

1. She’s not about to join the blonde hair bandwagon.

“I love my hair. I definitely think it's my staple piece. It's something that makes me feel like me,” Selena explains. The only thing that would make her reconsider? A movie role. “When I'm acting or doing anything for a role, obviously I can't ever say that I wouldn't do it.”

2. In fact, when it comes to hair, Sel’s pretty low-maintenance.

The Pantene endorser admits to shampoo only every three days, and she doesn’t use conditioner! She shares, “I feel like with my hair it gets better every day when it's kind of a little dirty, so I'm one of those people—which I have to thank my mom and dad for because they have really thick hair.”

3. Her workout philosophy is all about being healthy and feeling good.

Like you and me, Selena needs a push to get her butt moving. “I'm horrible at discipline when it comes to working out. I'm one of those people who's like, ‘Ah, I ran for five minutes. I think I'm good,’” she says. But since working with her trainer, Amy Rosoff Davis, while on tour, Sel has been motivated to keep it up for the show and her fans.

4. The secret to her amazing skin is… sweat.

“I have a sweat bed, which looks like a burrito that I wrap myself up in, and I sweat for about 45 minutes,” she explains. The process releases toxins from her body, which she says has changed her skin for the better. “I know it sounds gross, but you just sit in your sweat for an hour and don't immediately shower, because there's natural collagen in your toxins that it actually makes your skin feel softer before you wash it all off.” Hmm, sounds a lot like the anti-aging heat box we recently tried!

5. She’s not one to let pimples and breakouts get her down!

Selena understands she’s lucky to have Photoshop and makeup to hide zits and blemishes, but ultimately, she’s pretty chill about the random pimple. “Life is life. You can't really fight it. I think there are things that I could do or procedures for sure, but I just don't. I think that's gonna happen,” she says. We’re definitely with you on that, Selena!
